Rogue apps are using my phone more than I am

Block background data= Go to settings, more, usage, scroll down and find facebook, click it. Scroll down and check "restrict background data".

Break the link in gallery - Note it has been a while since I did this so I may mis the exact steps but something like -

Disable Facebook - go to app manager, click on face book, click disable.

Then go to the gallery - click overflow button, click Add online service, uncheck Facebook.

Then go back to app manager, click on face book, enable app.

Neither worked for me. To block background data I have to set a data cap. And menus must be different to break the gallery.

Well, if you don't have a data cap, you can still set one, just set it very high, like 200gb.

Not sure about what your mean by menus must be different - are you thinking they are carrier specific? I am on AT&T

I don't see an overflow button, and I don't see anywhere to uncheck Facebook. It is listed there but I can't do anything with it.

When you first open the gallery, the overflow button on the top right, add online service and under there is Facebook. Just click Facebook. You can then remove it.

I think you are just overlooking something... Of course this is assuming you have face book linked currently

I've cleaned everything up and am getting perfectly acceptable battery performance now. Thanks everybody for the help.
