[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

After you ODIN back to stock and OTA to ED03, don't bother restoring anything yet with TiBu, as you will want to wipe all data before flashing ComRom. After you ODIN CWR and flash ComRom and make sure everything is working to your liking, then download TiBu form the Market and restore your apps.

Will I be rooted? or is that another seperate step?

Yes, this rom roots you when you flash it. No need to do it separately.

awesome, thanks.....one last question...well I may have more....but who knows.

Can someone point me in the right direction as to where I find the post that gets me back to stock? I know it was stickied for a while, but its gone now.

You can use Post #9 in this thread: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-please-read-post-1-before-posting-forum.html There's another one, I'll find it and edit this post with that link as well.

Edit: Alright found the other link here it is: http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...70-howto-get-ed01-official-froyo-quickly.html

Ok I found it and I downloaded DL09...but it keeps opening up on my desktop and is not in the file folder where all my samsung stuff goes. Will it automatically be there in odin?

me again....hope you arent getting sick of me yet :)

So to break it down, I just have to odin DL09...then I can OTA right to ED01, ODIN CWM, wipe data, flash com rom then restore thru TIbu? I don't know why I am so worried this time around....I've flashed things before..... I guess its because Its almost 9pm on a work night lol...I NEED my phone for work. haha

if you go to OTA method you'll actually land at ED03.. (ED01 modem I think)

Wipe data before and after installing ComRom

Boot your system..

Make sure the install took

*228 1/2

I recommend the calendar, browser patch to get you extra stable KB.

and Reboot again.

Google account

Reboot.

If everything still runs smooth..

Then restore Tibu.

If you batch restore apps and data and then start getting a bunch of FC's, it's from the data restore that batches with TIbu. Lots of problems with that. Consider starting over, and selectively restoring apps. Longer but more likely to give you less hiccups.

KB is awesome, but is like a woman when it comes to install it gets fussy if you don't love it right... (no offense ladies, it's just a little tender)

haha, love your reference to women :) no offence taken :) heehee

I'm running KB now...I just needed to clean up my phone a bit. It is awesome! I agree.

I am having problems downloading DL09.... I have DI01, you think that would work? Would I still be able to get the OTA update with that one? I promise, that was my last question.

You may not get the OTA update to ED03 because it seems like it is designed to take you to ED03 only from the most recent stock build. I went back to stock DL09 to get the ED01 modem, and my phone OTA'd to EA28 before it OTA'd to ED01.

great ADVISE.......ADVISOR landshark...:)

I also believe he configured it to work with all three gps satellites (google, google loc, vzw) . I have to enable all three and wifi, to get to work to my ocd standards. Are you doing the same?

Thanks so much for the help! So I went back to DL09, then to EA28, then to ED01. After that, I did a clean install of CommROM, wiped data immediately after flashing, and the GPS in GMaps still didn't work. So I enabled all three GPS services, as well as WIFI, and boom, perfectly accurate GPS location (consistently!). I find it curious how I need to have WIFI enabled, even with no connection to a network, but I ain't gonna question it if it's working. Again, thanks so much!

yeah, thats frustrating, but I find it's way more accurate than just the google standalone satellites..weird I know but , I don't understand half this stuff.

Interesting that u still went to ED01 from going back to DL09. I did it the other day and took me to EA28 than to ED03. Thats very weird. Double check your baseband for me pls...Im interested in why some would get ED01 and some ED03 basebands....

Thats wild. I wonder how they choose who gets pushed ED03 modem rather than the ED01. Unless first they try the ED01 package and figure out that u are 1 of the 10,000 phones that cant OTA to ED01, than they feed you ED03. Weird.

My phone wouldn't OTA to ED01. Not sure why, but I was stuck at EA28. Download failed not once, but FOUR times. I'm super impatient, and was very frustrated, so I just flashed CommRom from EA28, then had to flash EC01.

When did you go back to DL09 then OTA to ED01? You may have done the flash to DL09 and OTA to ED01 before ED03 was available.
