I think the ad blocking is built into the ROM, so I don't think it can be turned off. You could always flash the Debloated ED01 ROM. It's not ComRom by a looong shot, but there's no ad blocking or bloat. Just make sure to disable voodoo if you decide to do that, or your phone will be headed somewhere in a handbasket.

I had wondered about that. I did try the debloated EDO1 ROM and I guess I'll go that way if I have to, but I'm hoping there is a way. Is there a way to revert the host file to disable the ad-blocking?

Actually, I'm going to try and copy the hosts file from system/etc and copy it to my laptop. I'll try to edit out anything with "medscape" and then replace it. I'm hoping this will work.

I just updated to 1.3 and my clock is gone from the top bar. I can't remember how to get it back. I should know these things

You may be able to, but to be honest, I've never gotten up the guts to rip into the code...

This may seem redundant..but did you make sure your background data is on?

Yes, background data is turned on.

I edited the hosts file and removed 3 entries for medscape. I will see if this allows it to work.

settings---tsm parts---statusbar settings--change the color in the color wheel to something other than black...tap middle color dot within the wheel to accept change----reboot..

I think editing the hosts file worked. The program is updating the reference material now. I'll know for sure once it is done, but I did not get the error that I received initially.

ok... just about done... however, some of my apps from the market will not update. Is this a known problem? If so, is there a fix?

did you batch restore your apps with TiBU? Un-install non-functioning apps, re-download from market..restore corresponding app data from TiBU if you feel you need the app data..

yes, I did batch restore... but I have always done that and never had this issue before

yeah KB is touchy...it's a permissions thing..you can try to fix permissions as well in CWM if the above listed don't fix your woes..

I am having problems downloading DL09.... I have DI01, you think that would work? Would I still be able to get the OTA update with that one? I promise, that was my last question.

KangBang is the same thing as the Community ROM. The latest version is 1.3, which is in the first post of this thread

KangBang and Community ROM are the same thing. You get 1.3 in the same place you got 1.2, right here in the first post of this thread.
