[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

I'm going to wait a little while to see if TSM is going to post an identical thread here at AC the way Adrynalyne has always done. If no thread is posted here I will post links for the downloads for the three different versions of Comm ROM 2.0. I just want to be respectful and give them time to post a thread here if that is their intention.

Thats why i didn't give the link to lurch to xda, i had the same thing in mind.

I think, because I've been having some 3G/1x cutout problems, I'm going to use Jaer's thread to flash up to ED03 (instead of EC01) before flashing UKB2.0.

That shouldn't require any kind of data wipe, correct? It seems like I ODIN DL09, which is only the modem, then flash to EA28, then ED03. Then I should be able to flash UKB2.0 right over KB1.3, yes? No neeed to restore anything via nandroid (although a backup WILL be made)?

Or, since I'm out of the house, could I flash to UKB2.0 and then do the modem flash?

I did the radio update the other day and it worked great. You shouldn't need to do any wipes flashing the radio. Just make sure you let the phone boot up completely between each radio flash and you should be good. You can flash right over KB1.3, but its recommended that you wipe data/cache/dalvik. You don't need to restore anything via nandroid.

Why would you restore anything via nandroid? Make sure you reread the section on nandroid backups in DroidXcon's thread here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html

A nandroid backup takes a snapshot of your phone's entire system and when you restore a nandroid it puts you back to the exact setup you had at the time you created the backup. If you did a nandroid backup right now then went through all those steps to get to UKB 2.0 then restored a nandroid backup, you just wiped out all the steps you just went through because you just restored your phone to the exact setup you were at right before you went through all those upgrading steps.

Are you getting a nandroid backup and a backup and restore through titanium bakcup or MyBackup mixed up? Just want to make sure you don't make a mistake that will lead to much aggravation.

I think that's what happened in my brain.

I just wanted to make sure that, if I needed to wipe data during the modem boot, I could restore it. But I had forgotten that nandroid would undo my 2.0 flash. Good lookin' out, Sharkie.

Seems that Erebos 1.3 Theme works for UKB2.0. As does the MMS patch, the camera patch and the screenshot patch.

EDIT: The new SGII screenlock does NOT work with the Erebos theme.

The Launcher2 patch gave me some jibber-jabber about it needing to be Edify because of the script with Gingerbread 3.0?

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation aborted.

Yep. Looks like the launcher 2 patch was written in Amend script which would need to be flashed with the CWM-recovery-all-3-3--fix (CWM 2.5.1.x) rather than CWM 3.0

Which needs to be ODIN'd, right?

My phone talks to computers.

Yep. If you wanted the Launcher 2 patch, ODIN CWM-recovery-all-3-30-fix, boot directly to CWM, flash patch, reboot. Power down phone, ODIN CWM 3.0, reboot. Launcher 2 patch can run with CWM 3.0 on your phone, just can't be flashed through CWM 3.0

I put up the download links in the ROM post in the ROMs/Themes and Resources Thread...

I have also updated the Themes post it looks like gunner has updated his work.. to CommROM 2.0

I just *228'ed and when my phone rebooted it was in safe mode  my widgets won't load and all 3rd party apps are gone. What in the?!

Why would you restore anything via nandroid?

I have used in the past and just used with the new ComRom a Nandroid restore. However, I went through "Advanced Restore" and selected just data. Everything worked just fine and appears to be up to date with the new version.

Did they remove voltage control or just move it to a different part of the system?

Omited.. on all but the OTB ROM.. if you want it - there is a new version free on the market..

I have OTB 1.5 already on board and opted not to reflash a kernel.. downloaded the new version... all is well ..

FYI: New ui for VC.

Couple things I've noticed:

ComaVolt kernel is not compatible, I couldn't get my phone to boot no matter what I tried. I flashed OTB v1.5 and it booted fine, but then gave me my usual OTB problems, PBJ -50 seems to work fine so I'll give that a try

I can't get the new TSM market to see my installed apps, there's no cache to clear, I cleared data and it still won't show.

I have had this happen in the past... you can uninstall an app - then install from the market and the rest will show up...
