Ok im not sure if this was covered or not as Ive read alot in this thread for awhile but..I know that there is a recommendation against using a fps fix kernal on this rom which is where my question lies. Is the netarchy or king kernal compatible with this if I decided to give it a shot?

Oh and 1 more. Theres discussions going back and forth and ive heard both sides of this coin and dont know which is which. Is doing the rollback to 2.1 then unrevoked forever/3 combo -upgrade a full root or a partial?

I know king's #8 kernel is compatible with this ROM but in order for it to work you need to do a full wipe, flash the ROM, then before you reboot you need to flash the kernel immediately. If it's not done like this you will experience extreme lag and ADB won't work. Thats not a ROM issue but a quirk of the kernel.

As jerzy said, you should use simpleroot. Unrevoked is not a full root and you will likely experience issues with this, and many other ROMs unless you have full root.

All done up and running thanks Ksmith for all your help.

Awesome man! Glad to hear your setup. Text me if you need anything else.

Did you get a chance to check out that beautiful LWP Beezy and Sprintgirl slaved over? One of my favorite parts of the ROM (especially the android eating an apple LMAO)

Yup thats f-ing hilarious and yes the AC clock widget takes you to the ROM thread. "?" why don't you have the AC News Widget in the ROM?

Later,
Dave

if this were a cartoon you would have just seen a light go on over my head lol. Great suggestion! We'll be asking for permission to include it in the next build for sure.

Absolutely. Heres a simple quick setup i use and it provides excellent battery life and i have yet to see any issues with lag or performance

Quick note; I do not game on my phone. I call, text (heavily), email (heavily), gtalk, browser the web .... basic core smartphone functionality.

In the main screen of SetCPU put the max at 576 and min at 275, leave governor at on-demand, and check mark set on boot.

in the profiles tab only create 1 profile and have that be Screen off, min 275 and max 275, set the priority at 95, and put the governor at battery saving. Make sure you enable profiles.

These are the only 2 settings i use and i get amazing battery life and see no performance issues at all. You can adjust the main tab to set your max at whatever you'd like it to be but for me personally i don't need over 576 so i dont want to let the cpu scale to 1ghz simply so i can send a text message lol.

Where can I find SetCPU? Do I have to download it?

Don't use UnRevoked. Use SimpleRoot. Faster, easier and full root

I've already done all those steps lol. If I remember correctly I tried something with simpleroot bit it wasn't updated or something like that which got me to quit it. And thanks for the replies. Guess im just itching to try out the fps fix lol

That line comes from "Give It To Me" by Jay-Z"

Hey thanks for appreciating the ROM. After all this work we never get sick of hearing how happy people are with it despite how self-indulgent that sounds.

Were busy working on 2.6 for you all while trying to provide the world class support people have come to expect from this ROM.

WE THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS STEPPED UP TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE!!!! Without you guys we'd be sitting here answering questions all day and not working on providing you with that stuff, that funk, that sweet, that funky stuff (bonus points if you know where that comes from).

When you open the Simple Root 1 step (it's really 2 steps) you have to let it check for updates. On the bottom left you'll see it checking for updates. If it's up to date you'll be set, otherwise it'll prompt you to update it. Then you're good to go.

I was listening to Rick James when i typed that. I think before that i had on Iesha by ABC LMFAO!!!!!! We were playing old school stuff on youtube that night :p

LOL DAAAMN thats going WAY back. I was like 4 years old when they came out! HAHA

I'M BAAAACCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!

Just left Sprint with a working EVO :)

I want to say thanks to Matt (the tech at the Sprint store) for going WAY above and beyond to get me back into a working EVO. The second replacement EVO they ordered came with a shattered digitizer. Matt took the working board from that phone, the working digitizer from the the first phone, and made me a franken-evo.

If you're ever in Webster, NY and need a good phone tech see Matt at steele communications on Ridge.

sorry to take the thread off topic but i wanted to thank him because any other store would have made me wait another day for an EVO to ship.

Now get back on topic ;)
