[ROM] AC-ROM-Froyo 2.2

Would everyone want stock apps(bloatware) removed?

Just wondering why the multi touch keyboard was removed. Gonna give this a try after I test out Myn's for another day or two. The battery tweak for that ROM seems to work really well. Any idea if it's compatible with this ROM, or if it's even necessary?

People just weren't digging it. If you like it, keep the apk and use it on any ROM you'd like.

Far as i can tell, that tweak is cpu profiles (like you setup in setcpu profiles) and hybrid adaptive voltage scaling which you should be familiar with by now thanks to king and netarchy. Regarding if it would work, theoretically, yeah I don't see why not. We use the same kernel as myn so i would think so.

Download link is 1.5 megs hehe. Wrong link?

If you're trying to download it to your phone you need to wait until we put the link up to our new host. It's coming soon. Had an issue uploading so we threw out the mediafire link for now.

QR code also coming shortly so you can use your camera to download the ROM.

Removing apps (.apk)

So i have been using all of the iterations of AC Rom. I once deleted all the wrong apk (in the wrong folder or something) Anyway, I just did a completely clean install of 2.7. As it was with 2.6 I still can't delete .apk's. This is what I am doing:

1. Downloaded Root Explorer
2. Open root explorer
3. The default folder has / in the top left corner. The first folder is acct (just making sure I am on track)
4. i scroll down to system folder (not sys)
5. i click it
6. i then scroll to the data folder
7. i click it
8. then i hold com.htc.fmradiowidget
9. i choose delete when the menu comes up and it says I don't have permission.

What gives?

You need to put root explorer in r/w mode.

Go into system/app or data/app whichever you want to play in, then in upper right hand corner of root explorer, click the button to switch from r/o to r/w. It should say "Mount R/W"

EDIT - also get out of system/data .... thats the mistake you made the first time (yes, i remember you :) ). You need to be in system/app.

Ok I see that there is a button in the top right corner that says "mount r/w". I pressed that and it changed to "mount r/0" This has allowed me to create, delete , etc...

This isn't on the bloat removal tutorial. I think it should be added for extremely computer savvy people such as myself (i really am) that don't know that this button give you read/write capabilities.

Does 2.6 and 2.7 use the same kernel? I've upgraded last night (not a flash over, a clean flash). It's been great so far, I love the customized icons. Thanks.

It didn't feel as smooth as 2.6, it's not not smooth though, if that makes sense.

Glad you like the icons. The framework took forever it seems like. Tons of customization. Some stuff you'd never even see unless you made other modifications to your phone  (try the vanilla lock screen for example). Also some stuff that just looks so natural you probably would never notice like all the resting icons in the mail application (open mail and look at the bottom of screen) have been colored. Lots of other changes too like, turn up or down your volume on your phone ..... looks different huh? :) like the change log says, there's just wayyyyyyy to many changes to be documented so we'll just call it the AC-Framework and let you guys find the eye candy.

It should be the same kernel. we were playing with a different kernel Beezy made but at the 11th hour pulled the plug on it. Can you tell me what the kernel says in Menu > Settings > About phone > Software information - kernel version? It should be the standard HTC kernel #11.

I'd check but am at work and running another test kernel at the moment so mine is different that what comes with v2.7.

I noticed the lock screen right away because it's the first thing I delete from a Sense rom, I love it. The speaker, gps, wifi, alarm clock, downloads all look great. Absolutely amazing. I'm using a very grey background so it all just looks great together - the framework really stands out but it's so smooth, great work again.

I'm running htc-kernel@and18-2#11

Hmmm well that's the stock HTC kernel. I'm kind of at a loss for ideas. The overall smoothness people noticed was a combination of HTC's fps kernel and the zipalign process we did on the apk's. If the kernel is the same, and because 2.7 was built from 2.6 so zipalign remains, I got nothing.

It's probably just me or an updated app, time willing I'll do some 2.6 vs 2.7 comparison stock w/no apps after full wipes, I'm sure they will be the same. I'm trying to remember when I went to 2.7 and I probably did a titanium restore right after. I probably should of done more tinkering on my own.

I can't believe I'm back on a sense rom starting with your release of 2.6, I was on CM6 for so long I thought I'd never go back.

FYI

I went from 2.6 to 2.7. Cleared cache and dalvik. No problems except superuser FC on everything. Went to manage applications and did clear data on superuser and it now works fine. So far so good, but have only been running for about an hour.

Miss count down timer in world clock. Can someone recommend an alternative?

Great work on rom.
