[ROM] AC-ROM-Froyo 2.2

I don't use the benchmark apps so no problem there. Just looking to speed the device up a bit, increase batt life, and if at all possible give youtube a boost. Youtube is a bit SLOW for me; and I have 3g service where im at too.

Can someone throw me a link for the kernel download? I couldn't find it.

Yeah youtube (for whatever reason) has been giving a lot of people issues lately. There's a thread over in the main EVO forum where multiple people are experiencing degraded performance in youtube. I never use youtube so I haven't noticed but I could see how people are getting ticked off when google features are starting to perform worse with every RUU/app update (youtube, market).

Maybe its time for HTC/Sprint/Google to do a little house cleaning and optimize and improve some stuff before pushing out new stuff ::shrugs::

Yeah good luck telling them that. They keep iterating but not improving the actual performance of the app.

I'm still running 2.5, with BFS#9 Kernel. Someone refresh my memory, if I update to 2.7 do I need to reinstall my Kernel?

Yes you will have to flash the kernel again.The kernel is part of a boot.img and when you flash a rom it will over write the boot.img/kernel you currently have running.

This may or may not be the place to post this, but thought someone here could probably answer.

When I updated to ACRom 2.6, I updated my radios and PRI with evo.2.15.00.09.01.zip. I am now running ACRom 2.7. I am having no problems whatsoever. I seem to be getting better or at least more consistent radio signals. For some reason and reading something, I tried to "Update Profile" and got the error (see first att). I get the same error (with PRL substituted for Profile) if I do a PRL Update. Any ideas why I am getting this and how do I correct?

You need to use an app such as root explorer or use ADB and your pc to delete HTCLockScreen.apk out of system/app. That will leave you with vanilla lock.

Try updating in a different location to eliminate the Sprint network from being the issue (which is what i suspect). I have AC-ROM 2.7, baseband 2.15.00.09.01, PRI 1.77_003, PRL 60671 and I am able to update my PRL without an error.

If that doesn't work my next suggestion would be to try and flash the radio zip again and see if that does anything for you.

I just flashed this on a new EVO. When I got the EVO yest I turned on 4G and picked up a network right away. I'm right outside downtown Minneapolis so shouldn't have a problem. My signal strength for 4G read 'fair' I believe. Well I flashed this ROM, have set up everything how I like, flashed new radios, then did a profile update, but 4G does not work. I can turn it on but it just sits in 'scanning' mode. Any idea what the issue might be?

ok well i downloaded root explorer and i dont seem to figure out how to delete it the only option it gave me is to extract so any help would be really appreciated guys =)

edit: also when i try to delete it says file system is read only? no idea whats up thanks again guys
edit: nvm i figured it out haha is there any place where we can see what else we can discover in this ROM? lol i have no clue whats lurking in the mist =)

By update in different location, you mean physically located somewhere else? Will give that a try tomorrow.

Before I had the opportunity to try this solution, I did some trouble shooting. This, of course, determined it wasn't the ACRom. Just for completeness, I'll tell you what I did and then take the discussion to a more appropriate forum.

I restored to my native rom after rooting. Same problem. Flashed the combo EVO_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_WiMAX_26023_R01_PRI_NV_1.7 7_003 - Includes latest Radio, WiMAX, PRI & NV zip on ACRom. Same problem. Flashed the prior radio. Same problem. This all supported the theory that it could be a Sprint tower problem. Reflashed to current radio. Did ##RTN#, then menu|reset (resetting to factory). On reboot, it activated and updated to the current PRL. I tried updating PRL from system update, this time it said it has been updated (no error). Restored to my current config. Same problem as before.

I have no idea what is going on. Later this afternoon, I will try from another tower.

Won't Sync??????

Hey guys,

Is anyone else experiencing this? I really didn't notice it until this morning. I rooted the wife's EVO last night and installed AC 2.7, I didn't try syncing it until this morning and bang the phone can't find sync on the computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled HTC sync. Well I thought I had screwed up somehow and was getting ready to redo the root on her phone when I tried to sync my EVO, my phone has the same issue, WTF. I've tried this on two different computer's, in other words HELP!!!!!! lol

I fixed this by wiping all and reflashing. I had done a restore all with Titanium Backup. By restoring only user apps and data, I resolved the problem.

I now have another minor problem. There is a persistent notification to update Visual Voice Mail even though it is up-to-date. How do I clear this up?
