just wanted to know if anyone has ran into the same problem as me, when using ACE Rom i've noticed that when my phone auto changes from horz. to vert. i get an audio buzz. this is the only reason i do not use ACE Rom...

is there anything i can do to fix this problem?

Never had this issue during the 2/3 weeks I ran it. Nobody else has mentioned it. Could be the result of a bad flash.

Paul, what do you think about Bonsai? Do you like as much as/better than your own ACE rom? Just curious.
The new Bonsai beta I was running Bonsai v4.1.1 with the B35 kernel was awesome. Not that it was anything spectacular in means of features, it was usual Bonsai which I like but it was about as solid as you could ask in a ROM. Ran it for a little over a week before the latest Gingerbread came out and I had 1 FC of my own doing otherwise it was rock solid. I expect it to be a big hit with everyone once it goes into full public release. I was running it with the latest Honeycomb Fusion v2.0 theme over it and it looked and performed well.

Ace, I will always support my own ROM naturally. I really didn't have any issues with ACE except for the occasional lockup but that was probably due to kernel caused lock ups and not the fault of the ROM.

Paul. Many thanks for all your work. I have been running ACE since the first release with EB13. Great work. Solid ROM.

As for the latest release with EC05 ... same results. I have used with the Genocide kernel for that last 3 to 4 weeks under a very demanding business environment (multiple push syncs with both active apps and apps running in the background), and have never had a lock-up or FC. An occasional power-down has helped with restoring the fluidity, but that's a given.

Look forward to seeing you on the other side of Gingerbread ... and maybe another ACE :)

Just flashed ace for the first time. Nice job, stable and smooth.

+1

My messaging issue was due to the messaging app I was using. Other than that glitch (not the fault of ACE), I haven't had a single freeze or lockup. Definitely the most stable rom ever. I second the idea that ace + genocide is the way to go.

Please please consider releasing a gingerbread version when its out! You do great work..

Well I've already worked up one MOD for Gingerbread. Remove Clock in Status Bar MOD.

You never know what is next on the horizon.... ;)

Curiosity Question - were you still gonna try to get that Custom Boot Animation on here or are we just gonna wait until that Gingerbread ACE ?

I think I may hold off and if there is a GB ACE then attempt it again... Not sure what is going wrong, the animation plays great as a normal Flash file but then once its cut up into individual pngs and put into the ROM things go wacky.... I don't blame my designer/fellow AC Advisor who did the work... Something I'm probably doing wrong is at fault...

i'm having a bit of an issue changing my ringtone through settings all the sudden. i can choose a different tone in the settings, but when i try to apply it everything freezes. i thought it may be due to overclocking/undervolting, but i put everything back to stock and got the same thing. also tried a "fix permissions" to no avail. anyone else seen anything similar or have any suggestions?

Must be a kernel issue.... Never had any ringtone changing issues... Normally all freezes are the fault of the kernel.

that's kinda what i figured since i never had any issues with the twilight kernel, just thought i'd ask. honestly i'll probably just ignore it unless anything else starts giving me business, i feel like the ACE/Genocide combo is a winner as far as speed, battery, and stability. this has been the only glitch since flashing the new kernel

What type format is the file? I have had issues with some mp3's. I had to convert them back to WAV, then re-encode them before they would work.

yep, it's the mp3's giving me issue. i'll give it a shot and see if it helps, thanks much.

Hi Paul. Really appreciate your hard work with your Rom's. It's always been very clear and easy to follow your directions to give us the owners a chance to use the full potential of our Epic's. Since you are closing this door to the Ace Rom v2.0, can you compile a sticky of an index like you did before for the "[Index] Froyo EB13 ROM's, Kernels, Themes, & Other Mods [Updated 3/22]"
That would be a great way of having everything for everyone to change kernals and mods until the Gingerbread Rom comes out.

Thanks again for your hard work.

Going to back to ACE from EE03 Swiss Cheese?

Hey Paul (or anyone who has tried),

First off --- thank you kindly for everything you do on the Epic boards.... I have learned a great deal from all your posts.

Secondly --- I wanted to give gingerbread a try but the battery life is just killing me and I would like to revert back to ACE... maybe keeping the EE03 modem to see how that works and possibly going back to ECO5 modem if need be. Being on EE03 Swiss Cheese means I'm back at RFS... what is the process for going back to ACE, which is based on EXT4? I have CWM 3.0.2.5... can I just wipe and flash ACE through their and it will take care of converting me back to EXT 4? Or do I need to flash RFS ECO5 (or Odin back) and then start the whole conversion process over from scratch?

I appreciate any advice you have to offer. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Ummm I think, now if I'm wrong sorry because this is kind of new with this CWM 3.0.2.5.

I believe you need to run the EXT4 conversion since EE03 is based on RFS setup and you probably came into it by doing Odin to EC05 and then rooted with the One Click CWM 3.0.2.5. Correct? If so then your not converted to EXT4.

So then you will need to run the EXT4 conversion and then you can wipe and flash into ACE.
