[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Hey Ziggs- thanks for looking into this.
On prior kernels, VC has a pull up tab on the bottom of the main screen that lets you toggle which speeds you want to use. Then you can select the max speed from the pull down menu at the right upper corner. The main screen itself lets you slide how much to UV each speed.

On this Kernel, there is no pull up tab to select which speeds to use and not use. It may be a moot point if something better is coming but was just curious.

Oh yea the States pull up lol. Der heres your sign lol. It's got to be just a limitation on the kernel then because its not there on Twilight 1.1.1 but its there for Twilight 1.1.0 But like I said ACS might be working on a simpler and maybe "better" way of doing both playing with voltage and clocking speeds...so I've heard ;)

well guys, finaly time to post a problem from my end after a while lol,
Currently I've been on ACS for a bit, then switched to this one 1.1.1, but the first setup I messed up on a few things so i just ,cleared data/Cache/Delvick x3 then Flash the Rom, then Flashed the TWCW kernel thing( this was before the re-released 1.1.1 where the TW flash wasn't needed.) but after the flash, Im getting extreme lagness :/ and thats only after the phone is on the desktop, so i restart the phone, and yet is still laggy.

how do i start fresh?
thank you!

How fresh do you want to start? Lol. I was beta testing a theme for this ROM and kernel and I must have flashed and corrupted my data atleast 16 times lol. So I odin'd completely back to stock...well not completely just to EC05 and re-rooted with the new CWM3.0.2.5 or whatever version it is lol
After rooting it with that one click though you have the option of running RFS or the EXT4 file systems and if you want to run EXT4 there is an additional process that is nothing more than backing up flashing another zip and restoring before flashing the EXT4 ROM.

So if it is stock you want to go back to go here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...68-how-factory-restore-fix-bricked-phone.html

or you could try to wipe data cache and dalvick 3 more times and reflash the ROM and kernel and see if it was just a bad flash?

Either way you go its only another 10 minutes or so to go :p
Odin is not a long and tedious process :p

The hardest part about rooting or unrooting is finding the right combination of USB cords and ports!
GL and let us know :P

Also Videos in my sig on how to do any of what I explained :)

Can't find anything about this, but might have missed it. Love the ROM, but my video recording says it fails after anywhere from 10-30 seconds. I cannot get it to record for very long. Made me pretty mad at my son's preschool program yesterday. Anyone know how to fix? I wiped and reflashed and it's the same.

Are you running any themes? What process did you take when you flashed this? Like what were you coming from? Stock? EE03? SRF 1.1.0? Is it an error or does it force close? Have you tried to fix permissions in CWM?

No themes. I started from stock ECO5, OneClick, flashed SRF 1.1.1. It doesn't force close, it just says, "Warning: Recording Failed". It does keep what I was recording, but stops it. It has happened at 10 seconds, 30ish seconds, and even just over a minute; but it happens every time.

I've read that its an issue with the SD card not writing fast enough. Think its only a class 2 that came with it? So you can back up your SD card onto your PC then reformat it and replace the backup and it should work for awhile. Try lowering your resolution and take a test video and see if it still happens? If it does I would try this solution to see if it works?

Thanks, well i just didn't know which StockRom to Odin to before i redo everything again lol, but where is the Oneclick Root with the new Clockworks? hah nvm xD Found it lol, ty :D... btw
Now returning with my results, after flashing the new 1.1.1 update, it was still laggy, until I used the Terminal Emulator to fix the rotation lag, apperently that seems to have fixed the heavy unresponsiveness i thad when i started fresh :/ weird it never used to happen like that to me, even if the rotation was laggy, but thank you tho!

Dumb Question.. I'm having Root Access Issues for some reason :/ whenever i want to access the root folders for example data/data/gt.glu.gunbrows.com/game-save to fiddle around, im unable to see anything in the folder, it appears as empty while of course it contains a crap load of files, Im using Astro-Manager or ESFile explorer when enabling root access on ES- I get a SD Card unmounted or not present Error.. wtf, previously on 1.1.0 never had this issue, but now i do :/.

Also if it is a Root problem, can i use the 1Click Root without loosing anything? im on the RF4 File System. Thank You

Sounds like you flashed a kernel that does not have root built it. Just run the one-click root again to fix it.

I just want to report some great news.. I don't know if this is because I got lucky, or what... But while using 1.1 My phone froze, and I did a battery pull. I powered it back on to find no forced closes, and a fully functional phone. On the previous ROM, a battery pull would make my phone not functional and having to ODIN.

I guess I got lucky.

For future reference... If you ever do get a bunch of force closes. You can always boot back into clockwirk. Wipe data cache and dalvik 3x and reflash the rom. That way you don't have to always ODonnell.

Story time, kids. Grab some cocoa and settle in.

So I flashed the SyndicateROM 1.1.0 a couple weeks back?ran pretty good, had what I expected as battery life; not great but not bad. Thought to myself, ?self, let?s run with this ROM for a while, see what tweaks can be done, squeeze what I can out of this phone?.

Phone ran well for a while, then one day?BAM. External speaker crapped out. #*X@!

Gotta Odin back to stock and take it into Sprint. Pff.

Went to the Sprint store?gorgeous girl in the Sprint store?GORGEOUS. ?Self? hung out for a while ;)

Got my phone fixed?6 days later (only took ?em a week to get a speaker in  )?thought to myself ?heh?they?re none the wiser that I had it rooted?take that Sprint?.

Gorgeous girl not in the Sprint store that day?bummer. In and outta there in not time flat?gotta go re-root!

?Bout that time SRF 1.1.1 is released. Joyous?on the day of Rapture to boot?sweet.

Flashed that bad motor-scooter this morning, coupled with the Epic Dark Horse Theme? ?self? was very pleased.

Spent the morning getting my new ROM and sweet lookin? theme all squared away, noticed what appeared to be much improved battery life.

Diggin? the ROM. Diggin? it!

Life is good.

Then the phone gets wet. #*X@!

Sweet new ROM, sweet new theme?not so sweet right now. Takes multiple pictures all by itself, Google?s the most random things all on it?s own, and oh, somewhere along the line I pocket dialed Florida?I don?t live anywhere near Florida nor do I know anyone who lives in Florida. I hear it's nice this time of year.

Sooo, gonna try and let the phone dry out for a day or so, see if it can miraculously return itself to it?s Epic sweetness?or at least back to a state where I can re-Odin and take it back to Sprint. Pff.

Maybe gorgeous girl will be there.

The moral of the story?Odin is your friend, he?s your buddy, he?s your pal?NOT dumbass kids with garden hoses.

Questions:
I'm running SRF 1.1.0, and I love it. However, I'm all about upgrading, and would like to.

But - I really, really don't want to go through the process of reinstalling all my apps and settings.

If I use Titanium Backup, what are the odds I'll be able to more quickly get from fresh ROM install to fully rockin?

Are there apps TiBackup don't work well with? Is there a better option?

Would I just reinstall my apps from Android Market and just reinstall TiBackup data - or would I use TiBackup for that, too?

Whee!

If you make a Backup in Clockwork and then flash the ROM, you can do an Advanced Restore of Data only afterwards. This will restore all apps/settings.

Oh, one more Q.

Can I do this directly after flashing the new SRF 1.1.1 in CWM?

Or do I need to let it boot first, then go reboot into CWM and Advance Restore Data?

God I love this phone, and I'm already falling in love with the community. :-) So many friendly, helpful folks! Just like precentral.com was for me before!

:D

Restoring directly after the flash should be fine. Some ROMs even do it for you automatically after the flash, like Bonsai.

Friggin super effing sweet. I'm real enamored with SRF for the moment, but I will definitely be considering trying out one of the other ROMs at some point.

The tinkerer in me is banging on the door behind my mind's eye. :)

So far, so great!

Love AOSP lockscreen baked in, and love the mods to the power controls on the notification bar. BEEEAUTIFUL!
