Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

Hey tdm, I would recommend removing PinyinIME.apk and Openwnn.apk from /system/app. They are the Chinese/Japanese keyboards, and are in no way needed :)

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

I was going though apps in titanium backup and came up to this app below, I do not know what it is, is it safe to remove?

That's the Japanese keyboard I mentioned above. Completely harm-free to remove :)

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

I know you guys said to use the bug report link, but I have a question:

I plugged in my charger (stock ov charger), it had 53% left. Now it has 42%. The only things on are 3G and music player. Brightness is lowest, no gps, no oc. Whats up?

Edit: Hold on, it went up 1% like 5 min after I posted this...
Edit2: Now it's stuck on 43% xD and I turned off the music player.

I was wrong about it being necessary. Very sorry.

I am sure though that when I uninstalled it yesterday, my keyboard would not work correctly. However, I think that I might have uninstalled the keyboard too when I deleted the japanese apk.

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

Don't have to apologize :)
Weird that it deleted your other keyboard though..
As long as you don't touch LatinIME.apk, you're good to go :)

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

what's new in alpha 3 if you don't mind me asking

New build is up: quattrimus-vm670-cm9-alpha3.zip.

I didn't get as much done as I wanted today because I spent a lot of time reorganizing files and fixing the bacon target to work with non-debug user builds (if that doesn't make sense, don't worry, it's a CM dev thing :p)

Changes:

- usbstorage is back
- LatinIME is from the build, not prebuilt
- Baconized (eg. images compressed)

The baconization made up for the increase in LatinIME size and then some. /system is about 700k less than yesterday. Yay!

Note the last row of the keyboard is now halfway off the bottom of the screen in portrait mode. It's usable but funky. Maybe someone can find a way to fix it? Please? :)

Also note I'm not updating the first post because it seems chromimum has issues with post edits. I'll need to do that sometime later.

Kinda of hard to find everything since everyone is re-posting the same bugs over and over. It's a Alpha build, come on people. :-\

@Tdm, If your trying to save as much space as possible, please take a look at this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=749482&d=1318578051

It's the ICS bootanimation that's about 414KB's, Optimized for the Optimus.

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

Also, if anyone wanted to know, I got the galaxy nexus software keys at the bottom of the screen. Looks good
When I tried the BACKside rom that was ICS themed that was the biggest reason I stopped using it. Those keys were so annoying, I don't want software keys when I have hardware keys. If these are added into the rom I sure hope it is able to be disabled, our screens are tight pressed for real estate as it is.

I never said I was putting it in a ROM :) just using it for my liking.
I prefer it, and I'm sure people with broken hardware keys would find benefit out of it....

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

I have been and still working on it. Hardest thing I've done in my life, lol :)

Note: if you install ics keyboard from the market, the bottom row won't be cut off anymore and the lines won't be there. Thanks tdm, btw :)

Thanks for working on that. Swype Beta also does not cut off the bottom, works very well. Fortunately, they just came out with a 4.0 compatible version.

Re: [ROM][ALPHA] quattrimus CM9 (ICS)

I installed it this afternoon, got things working right away. It seems very quick, and my phone does not get hot like some folks. Many thanks to the devs for such great work, it is going very quickly and surprisingly smoothly.
The one bug I have run into is with the microphone. Nothing seems to be able to access it. Z-Device Test shows it working, but does not register any sound. This may be caused by a default microphone level of 0, I don't know enough about it.
Does anyone know of a program that will let me set the mic level?
Thanks
