[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

I been thinking I will just stay on m5 for a extended period mostly till m6 comes around. I mean the past 5 - 10 builds have been solid, no issues to speak of and they all look the same. A few added features but nothing mind blowing. Remember the hide the nav bar thing back on b25? We thought that was like earth shattering. I don't even come close to using that. There are just some core features I use and the others nope. No weather in the pull down, basic power menu and don't touch power saver.
So with all the major themes updated to m5 and downloaded, I can just play with those till m6.
Just a thought. Hell this idea may just go out the window once b36 comes out.

Above be just some random rabble :p :p :p

I wish AOKP could add group messaging capabilities to the stock SMS app. I hate using VZ Messaging app, its slow, laggy and never themed

I concur. The thing I've been flashing most recently are kernels. I keep up with Franco's nightlies.... or try to. I'm still on r152.

That reminds me... brb.

EDIT: Now I remember why I haven't flashed r156... I'm breaking in my new battery. I want to run it all the way down before turning the phone off. And I was wrong, I'm on r154... not 152.

If you're talking about mms.apk...there are loads of themeing for that.

Talking about able to send a receive group messages (keeping a threaded chat between numerous sms participants) like on an iphone and blackberry

Ok. I was just referring to the last part of your comment...the "never themed" part :)

WHats up fellows! Got my GneX today and the first thing I did was brick the phone! LOL!! I was flashing Franco kernel and from the updater app (auto) on my stock build and now I'm stuck at GOOGLE. Not sure what to do now?

Did you unlock and root first?

Yes, thanks. I posted on the Franco thread and found out that it was only good for 4.0.3 and above. I was trying to flash this on stock 4.0.2 ...duh! (face palm) I managed to flash a stock image and start over with the unlocking and rooting. Not bad for the first evening with my GneX. I plan on studying about this "fastboot" I keep seeing here and there. Is this something we flash from our computers like ADB commands and if so would doing this in Ubuntu be somewhat easier?

Where are you downloading m5 themes from?

Not sure on this. It works for fine for me, but I'm using light flow. Try downloading that if problems continue.

Are you having any trouble with light flow working while charging? Maybe I am missing something in the settings?

No no issues at all. Still flashes when its below 15% and lights green when fully charged. Also has been showing notifications. It needs to be enabled in Settings/Accessibility under services for it to function as well.

I have not had most of the issues you guys describe so far on M5. The signal strength seems to be a bit shaky but It is super fast and smooth. I can say is this Faux Kernel is giving me sick battery life as well. Im at 16 hours standby, 2 hours on screen and 49% remaining. usually i am in the 20's with the same stats on francos kernel. I have some more testing to do, but so far it seems to be working out well.

Sick! What are your Franco settings? Did you have to underclock/undervolt?

Gamma is kind of like Tide?. Colors brighter, and your whites whiter. It also makes your blacks blacker. There is RGB control as well, but I found the suggested settings made the display lean toward blue, so mine are custom.

Could you please share your gamma settings, I'd like to try em out, thanks.

I dont mess with the undervolt. 1228 max cpu, 384 min. 100 mb free memory. Interactive governor. 50% screen brightness. Im also on wifi alot between work and home, So that helps a lot.
