[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

Gamma is kind of like Tide©. Colors brighter, and your whites whiter. It also makes your blacks blacker. There is RGB control as well, but I found the suggested settings made the display lean toward blue, so mine are custom.

Did you forget to flash gapps before you rebooted?

EDIT: Is it only Gmail? If so, clear data from the Gmail app and try again.

Anyone have any issues with lag/delay when waking up the screen? Since my switch to AOKP M5 ive been getting a nasty lag on my wakeups. Most of the time its second or 2 but sometimes its 5+ seconds, Really a pain in the ass when im trying to check something quick. Its not the hardware because it does react at some point no matter how much pressure i give the button, definitely seems software related.

Any guesses anyone?

what governor are you using for the kernel, and what are the minimum voltage settings?

might be too low, or the gov might not scale up fast enough?

or something like that possibly ..

I thought myself that it was kernel related. So i changed from the stock kernel on AOKP to francos N152. Just flashed it like 15 minutes ago. So far the problems are not showing up.

Governor is set at interactive at the moment. I switch between this and on demand, but have been on interactive the whole time ive been on AOKP.

MV is set from 820-1380 depending on the slot.

the stock on m5 was a faux kernel, not sure how that one was working out for most ppl, i usually flash to francos. i havent had any problems with milestone 3 kernel my self.

on demand is the gov franco suggests. it's a balance between power when you need it, and battery when you dont. the volts you listed dont sound too low at all so that's probably not it.

if you experience the lag again maybe a reboot would help?

I'm with zero. I am pretty sure it was faux's kernel. I've never had any luck running the default kernel with AOKP. It just seems laggy overall. I even ran it at 1400 something set at performance, and it didn't run as well as Franco's at 1000 set at conservative.

YMMV of course, but that has been my experience. I'm always spouting off the praises of Franco's kernel to anyone who will listen. He's a good responsive dev, too.

Confirmed yes its faux. Unlike you guys, I been running it and its guuud.
I usually flash a different one from what comes on a rom but with this I am all good.
Yes, my mileage has varied.

Is there any chance that you may have rebooted after flashing the ROM, before you flashed Gapps? I've done that before, and didn't realize at first that I forgot. I rebooted into recovery and flashed Gapps, but it was still all wonky. Since I hadn't set it up fully yet, I just totally wiped and started over.

If that's not the case, you can maybe try to reboot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik, then reflash the ROM, then Gapps, then reboot. I don't know if that will work though, as I said, I did a complete wipe. I'm a compulsive wiper :p

I didn't even try faux's kernel this time. I flashed Franco's right after Gapps. I'll give it a shot on the next build when I flash that.

On b31, I think I went through seven different kernels until finally going back to Franco's, LOL

I've heard this can give people issues as well

Although I have to say I flashed a ROM, rebooted by accident, then flashed Gapps without any issues currently

Looks like a solid confirmation that it was the faux kernel causing the issue. Since flashing the nightly the problems have disappeared. Granted its only been a few hours but not one lag since the flash. Faux was good with battery, but lag like that is unacceptable. Should have stayed with the franco out of the gate. Thanks for the help everyone. Ill report back if issues return.
