[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

Part of me wants to be on 4.1 right now (who wouldn't want to be on the newest release ASAP?), but I'd prefer to stay on AOKP, as I like the extra features. So, I sort of want to flash that, but I don't want to have to do yet another wipe when AOKP inevitably bumps up to 4.1 within the next few weeks. Hm.

lol a few of us are on it :). I'm using Team Liquid's build; when that dropped JD's was in V1 and the data didn't work.

So far i'm on Team Liquid's build + franco's JB'ified kernel.

im slogging thru that thread, too many posts. can you give me a down and dirty summary? have the initial issues been fixed yet? (ie. does 3g/4g work, is there root?).
i also came across these threads:

Jellybean root - xda-developers
Jellybean OTA here! - Page 72 - xda-developers

needless to say, my head is spinning as im still too much of a noob to really understand what's going on

This has made me forget about those features, at least for now :)

Yeah, I'm so tempted, but I just don't think I could go without having power toggles in the notification bar, as well as the ability to personalize my lock screen a little more (both without having to get separate apps for, anyway). Hopefully the fact that we already have working JB ROMs means AOKP can incorporate it a bit sooner. *crosses fingers*

I also read on one of the RootzWiki threads that some people are having issues flashing back to a different ROM after flashing these 4.1 builds, so I'm a little wary until I know what's up with that.

I saw that too, but I've been able to restore 3 times now :).

^yeah, agreed. should anything go wrong, im still too noob to know how to troubleshoot, and i need mah phonez

feels dirty talking about stock JB in an AOKP thread :-p

dm, cliff notes for install?

ps, how to get franco? does the updater tool work, or must it be flashed?

We should probably keep the JB discussion in the Chatter thread or one of the JB threads instead of in here. See you guys in the other threads for some intense JB action. :D

I like Jelly Bean, but as soon as AOKP implements it into their ROM (and it works and is stable), I'm going right back to AOKP.

I keep telling myself the same thing, but I have to admit, I really am digging the Beans. Sure, I miss the customizations from an AOKP ROM, but in the end, I like the stuff JB offers more than I miss the customizations...for now. I reserve the right to change my mind at any given moment. ;)

And FWIW, I am still on Vicious 2, and have not had a single issue with anything I've tried. GPS is stellar actually.
