[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

Not sure what happened exactly but suddenly my battery life is steadily declining whenever I leave wifi and go to 3g/4g. My battery chart is practically flat at home on wifi but the minute I go 3g/4g my phone gets pretty warm and the chart looks like a ski slope I would be afraid to ski down.

Anyone ever see this before? Worst case I'll just restore my nandroid of this rom.

Try a reboot?

Wait until a stock rom is available. Might be after the source code is dropped.. Though dmmarck is more optimistic than me, bless him :)

im also hoping JB brings new SUPER DUPER radios with it

I know nothing about how development for these ROMs works at all, but does the Jelly Bean SDK now being available for download put us closer to seeing 4.1 ROMs?

SDK ported ROMs are mostly crap... its very hard to make them workable/stable, there will always be features and things that just don't work. It's like the worst thing for devs to work off of.. so while you will see some try their hand at it (there is actually one on xda already, but he can barely get it to boot as of right now and doesn't know where to go from there, lol), its not something to look for. Most all devs will wait for the source code to be released which will be mid july. Some more adventurous ones might try to get the leaks working on toro with some success... I know droidth3ory for one doesn't mind working with leaks and stuff like that, so maybe you'll see something materialize from that. But mostly we just need to wait for the source code.

Once that is out, very very shortly you'll see stock and stock/deodexed ROMs for toro pour out.. while those ROMs that are more feature packed (AOKP, CM9, etc) will take time.. As it's not going to be as easy as merging all the features into the new source and building it. For example even simple things like the pull-down toggles will likely have to be completely reworked since the whole pull-down shade has been revamped in Jellybean.. so yeah, more advanced features and options will definitely take some time. But like I said, stock, stable JB ROMs for toro ought to be available very soon after the source is out.

Hope that helps answer some questions! :)
