[ROM][AOSP][10/31][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/12/1

Just flashed this myself...will report back once it boots and I set it up.

EDIT: Still not showing 5ghz networks.

Last night at home, with the first ROM, the 5ghz was listed, but it would say "out of range". Maybe that is because the 5ghz is in the phone's data, not necessarily being picked up by this radio. I was hoping that this update fixed that. Not a huge deal, my 2.4 is fast enough, and has a stronger signal, but I like being the only one on that frequency at home.

Literally got the same issue. I deleted the network, still no dice.

And I want it for the same reason, b/c no one else knows it exists :).

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/12/1

In my house, mine is the only phone that can use the 5ghz, so it is MINE! But I did get a dongle so that the Xbox could use it, and our bluray player uses it, but they are not always being used.

My only problem is that the 5ghz signal is not very strong, that frequency has trouble going through walls, which is why 2.4 is the standard. So, my Nexus will often drop the 5 and pick up the 2.4 anyway. What is sad is that I can tell the difference when it switches. :0)

So I just flashed the 7/12 version of BB just now. So far so good. I love the wifi hotspot built into these 4.1.1 roms now. Very cool feature. BB is really smooth so far. Off the bat the only thing I see missing is the recovery mode option if you hold down power button. I guess people are calling it the power menu?

Francisco franco has an app in the market called Simple Reboot. It just gives you 3 icons: Reboot, reboot recovery, and reboot bootloader. I just toss them in a folder on an unused homescreen so I can quickly get to them if needed, works fine for now until the devs add an APM (advanced power menu) to Jellybean.

Previous versions of bugless had the APM...I'd imagine its just a matter of time before Pete ads it back in. That seems to be one of the few mods he adds.

Regarding the 5ghz problem. I'm also seeing that...

So battery life isnt very good however. What kernels are you guys using on BB?

I love BB. The only complaint that I have is when I am typing a message I don't see the punctuations that show up in ICS after each word is typed. Is this something that jellybean has a feature or is this something specific to this rom? Any ideas?

I'm running Franco's... its OK...batt life seems the same as ICS to me...did you do a full charge after flashing?

What about this?
[MOD][JB4.1+][AOSP+OTA] Super Power Menu | Reboot & Recovery | DIY Instructions Avail - Page 9 - xda-developers

From just reading a little, it seems clear that the one I'm using now on 4.1 will not work on AOSP 4.1.1. Glad I didn't try flashing that one.

You can't really tell for a couple days after flashing. Give the ROM and kernel time to settle and the battery to calibrate. Takes time and power cycles.

It's JB.. Go into the language and input settings and check the keyboard settings, I'm not sure exactly which as I use swiftkey, but I'm pretty sure you can change this.

Yeah rather just wait until the APM is built into ROMs, the solution I'm using works just fine for now and I rather not flash mods over things just yet.

Just flashed this dirty over my Vicious Liquid V1 rom.... We'll see how it goes..

Did they change any audio options on this? I can swear my text message just sounded better and clearer than before.

Ugh... I'm clicking my folders and instead of them "opening".. It just goes to my text messages.. Might have to re-flash clean...

one rom to another - requires a clean flash like, every single time, basically.

incremental upgrades of one rom, you'll be able to dirty unless otherwise noted/:)

yeah, if you are coming from another ROM i'd flash clean.

The only issue i have seen in the last two days since the first build came out is the 5ghz wifi issue, which admittedly isn't that big of a deal.

Everything else about the ROM is great.

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/12/1

Getting ready to finally make the jump from Vicious V2 4.1 to BB 4.1.1.
I know to wipe everything now.
For future BB ROM's I would assume I could dirty flash unless Pete says NOT to. But, for other ROM's like Jelly Belly, is it safe to say that all of these AOSP ROM's (right now are pretty much stock while trying to get the kinks worked out), it should be fine to dirty flash to these ROM's with no issues or are they slowly separating themselves from each other build-wise?

I can't figure out how a lot of people can just jump from ROM to ROM in the course of one day while performing full wipes. I would guess there is a ton of dirty flashing going on. ;)

Just asking: if its so brilliant why so many fixes?

I do typically dirty flash updates but the second i see anything that's not right i'll go ahead and flash clean.
