Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/13/1
Well i'm not the dev so i can't speak to the specifics of why the stock browser isn't working. The previous posts gave you a solution to hack it back in but any number of items could be wrong. I'm not sure what other files were removed that might have handled bookmark sync.
Bookmarks probably aren't backedup with TB.
You could post the issue over at the Rootz thread and ask Pete why he took out the stock browser and what might need to be restored to get it working again. Or ask the person that posted the apk if they have any suggestions.
I get that the solution to use Chrome isn't the one some people want. I think though that it's obvious based on the lack of Flash support from Adobe and the removal of the stock browser from the Nexus 7 tab that Google is going to begin phasing out the old browser. At some point everyone will need to make the jump to Chrome or to another 3rd party stock browser anyway. The question is do you want to do it now or later?
Oh yeah. FULL WIPE. No left over contaminants.
I just rebooted and my 4G is back. Just hope this is not a sign of things to come as I always have 4G at my desk.
Here's another small issue that is really annoying...
I chose NOT to sync my bookmarks on initial startup. I downloaded the stock browser apk in one of the previous threads and it works fine now, except...no bookmarks.
How do I get them back? Google supposedly backs up everything, correct?
I always had my bookmarks from previous ROM's after full wipes.
I also backed up EVERYTHING in TB. I don't see the bookmarks there either.
Maybe it's too early in the morning, but it's really frustrating me.
Help!
