[ROM][AOSP][10/31][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

okay, so did i do something wrong? I downloaded the new nightly build, then wiped cache and delvick and now i'm back to square one. Does downloading new updates always require you to start rebuilding from new?
Is this right? I couldn't even get google play to start downloading my apps? Confused NOOB here.

Did you factory reset also or only wipe cache and davlick

This is what I could find that's new on 7/19:

GlobalActions: add reboot options
Add Verizon proprietaries for Toro

And maybe updated Gapps too.

I didn't see a change log on his Twitter feed either must not have made any big changes maybe only system tweaks on this build

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/19/1

Pete's 7/14 post was updated today with the changes. He didn't post a new post on his site.
Changelog:

Common: Reduce boot up time
Common: Improve scrolling cache
Common: Restrict system packages to protected storage
Common: Hide "System updates" category
Common: Expose build date in "About" screen
Common: Add reboot options to power menu
Toro: Enable free tethering
Toro: Raise output audio level
Maguro: Raise output audio level
Toro/Maguro: Remove bugreport from user builds

The reboot option is new to the build and it is listed so I assume all of these are changed on some level with the 7/19 build. I haven't installed it yet, probably tomorrow, but the 7/14 has worked so well I might just skip it, although the tethering would be nice to have.

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/19/1

As anyone noticed after flashing 7/19 how much quicker reboots take.

I went from 3-4min to boot, now takes 30sec or less. I'm dig'n that.

Is that the whole reboot time? Mine seems to sit at the Google logo for a while but the time at the Nexus X logo does seem a bit shorter.

Mine only reboots moderately faster (it's faster, but probably by like 20%). The home screens still feel snappier, but I'm still attributing it to a placebo effect.

Yes, the overall boot time is substantially shorter for me on 7/19.

I would say it's as fast as I had back on ICS. By far the fastest since moving over to JB.

This is not a placebo, It used to sit on the Google screen so long I would fear I was going to have to do a battery pull.

Can anyone provide a link for the stock browser app from ICS?

Appreciate it!

I would bet you did more than just wipe cache and the Dalvik cache. Sounds like you might have done a factory reset which also wipes data.

when you update to a nightly, usually there's no change to your phone at all except what's been added in the new build.

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/19/1

Which ROM is the correct JB Rom?? There are several listed... I downloaded the one labeled 7-19, but it was only 29MB, which didn't seem large enough to be a complete ROM (patch update maybe..?) So, I am currently downloading 7-9 right now. Sorry for the ignorance. I've rooted a bunch before, but this will be the first ROM :-/

7/19 is the latest...try the torrent...those mirrors could still be getting hit...should be like 200?. I'm seeing 224.47 in root explorer

Downloading pete_toro_ota_2012_07_19.zip (224MB)

I don't have to rename it, do I? I can flash as is?

I've been running this for a day now (7-19), and its pretty buttery. FWIW, I would recommend wiping everything, as I saw framework tweaks in the github

Where do you find the MD5 number for Pete's ROMS. I like to have them to check the downloads

Yeah, i did something dumb. I went too fast and read something too fast and wrong and ended up doing a full wipe. Good thing i backed it up before though. Restored and re-did and worked like a charm.

If the nightly is a complete, updated ROM, that doesn't mean it will wipe everything automatically? We simply wipe the cache a few times each and flash the ROM from zip and all the apps and everything will carry over?

Not at all.. you have to wipe on your own.
Wipe data / Factory reset
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Format /system

Then flash!

EDIT: If you meant coming from an earlier version of the same ROM.. you can usually be alright wiping the caches only, I recommend formatting the system as well (you don't lose any apps or your data).
