stupid question, but if I wanted to install a "nightly" am I doing the whole factory reset process again? I have to assume no, but I dont know how to install a "Nightly" without this.

Perfectly normal. We don't have an external SDcard, but recoveries still check--why? I have no idea. But it's normal.

Downloaded and installed from a mirror without incident. It feels even faster swiping between home screens, but for now I'm chalking that up to placebo effect.
Does anyone know what's new? I've looked at Peter's website with the change log, but it still says July 14th, and I can't identify what (if anything) was added to the change list.
