[ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.5.5 [Full Open Source]

Just wipe dalvik and flash.

Also remember ROM's and kernels always need a couple days or power cycles to settle before battery life is reflected properly

Yeah, that's my hope, but the device seems to be running a little bit warm. It happened with one of franco's kernels about 4 or 5 versions ago, so I'm pretty sure there's just a piece of it that needs to be reworked.

I'm sad that the newest version took away the reboot options. All you can do is power off now?

Codename settings> Interface > General Settings> Show Reboot menu
;)

EDIT: Fully available.. it was now disabled by default as
1. Some users complained that they felt it was a security vulnerability.
2. Codename philosophy is intent on making the ROM feel like complete stock when you first load it.. and have the many customizations as options for you to enable... Go digging through those menus with each new version and make sure you don't miss any cool new stuff :)

Lol great!

Found what I was trying to say better... straight from codename's website:
"Unlike many other roms, Codename Android doesn't want you to feel like you're using anything other than stock. Of course we add as many options as possible, but we would rather you miss them when they are gone than be bugged by them being there."

Yup I love how you can confiqure tho the power menu settings to show as little or as many options as you want :)

I flashed 1.4 last night. Running great. Absolutely NO issues.

However I would like to suggest adding a backup feature to the launcher like Nova has.

flashed this ROM + Franco's kernel today. Nice to have the option of enabling dedicated search button in the menu bar.

I flashed this rom yesterday as my first ever custom rom and im loving it. Only mistake i made was when i was flashing Google apps. I had set up all my stuff again before flashing it. Had to re wipe. Everything works amazing and it is so much faster than stock 4.01. Kudos to the chef.

Will Google apps 4.04 work on my nexus if it's gsm?

Hi,

i had some problem with the installation of that ROM.
I tried to install it on my Galaxy S (GT 9000) from yur precedent ROM (1.3.3).

I followed these instructions:
(1.backup)
2. wipe reset/factory from recovery
3. flash ROM from recovery.

That was the message:

Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "toro" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "toro"
E:Error in /sdcard/Codename-Android-(MOD)-1.4.0-GN-CDMA.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

So I had to restore the 1.3.3 version...

I'm not expert, but i think that the new ROM (1.4) is not good for the Galaxy S.

May someone help me, please?

Thanks

Lindo

This thread is for galaxy nexus, not galaxy S, so you should make sure that you have the right rom.
TORO = CDMA/Verizon Galaxy nexus. Make sure you get the right rom for your phone.

I'm enjoying pretty good battery life with 1.4 with a screen time of about an hour.

The torch option doesn't seem to work for me, but maybe i'm doing it wrong. When the screen is off, I press and hold the power button, but all that happens is that the screen turns on - no torch.

Did you enable fast torch in rom control or whatever you guys call it on cna in settings?

There's also a bug for some, where you have to turn screen on, turn off, then hold power for the torch.sometimes that works.
