[RoM] AOSP 4.0.3 - updated 02/11

Re: [RoM] AOSP 4.0.3 - updated 01/02

breey,

Just want to say thanks! Installed v5 and it is flawless for me, everything works! I am not sure if it is just my imagination or something you did, but v5 feels a lot less laggy. Maybe just wiping everything and starting fresh helped.

Thanks again!

Just so I'm good...even coming from a previous version of this rom I should still wipe everything right?

Re: [RoM] AOSP 4.0.3 - updated 01/02

You can use the kernel already packaged or any of the others found around the web. We haven't had much time to focus on kernel development but there is plans to.

Just remember this isn't a final release nor does it have full optimization like google will do. There's still parts missing from source and those things still need patched so thing aren't going to be the fastest in the world right now. How can you shame ICS I'm not google this is no where near as good as their release will be. Sorry in my eyes google,JBQ,all aosp community does a hell of a good job and makes improvements all the time. If you think just cause a non optimized launcher makes things a little laggy is a reason to not use ICS then fine but no need to come into a rom development thread and bad mouth Google. That's why it's aosp you can always fire linux up download the code and make it better if you can.

Did you full wipe and running v-5? If so what kind of error are you getting, you sending or downloading?

Hey...wasn't trying to start anything or bad mouth. I guess I should have at least given a thanks or clicked the thanks button, so first thanks for taking the time to do this; I am a developer myself (not for ROMS, but as my day job) and know this stuff takes time, work, and dedication. I guess I just voiced my opinion, as there were even complaints on the official ICS that did drop before being pulled....

So first off..thanks. I appreciate the time that went into making this (and ALL ROMS that people have taken time to make). Now...with that being said.....

I still have my opinion on how ICS will turn out. Like I said, no "optimizations" Google can do will bring ICS full blown without lag because of the way Android was written from the beginning; this has been stated by Google developers themselves and has been known for a while. The only OS I have used without lag (throughout the OS....there are some poorly coded apps that aren't the fault of Microsoft) is Windows Phone. iOS 5.0.1 is crap on my iPod Touch and other iOS devices I've used (like...Windows Mobile laggy).

Anyway, this is a really nice ROM and I really do appreciate all the work that has been going into this (and, again, ALL ROMS). Not trying to start an OS war or flame war (or w/e they're called)....just voicing my opinion on the OS in general I guess, and not just this specific ROM.

All the wallpapers have been removed and added in custom wallpapers. You can easily get all the wallpapers that were included in ICS off the intranetz.

"Dont worry, im from the intranetz!"

Want to applaud beezy and the team for their work, even back from the first build beezy compiled. I have an iPhone now (teehee) but this rom looks amazing and I still think Android 4.0 is beautiful.

Thanks for all your work, past and present.

Almost 24 hours into using this ROM and it's flawless. Not a single force close or crash in sight. Everything is synced from calendars, to GMail, to contacts, etc. Absolutely fantastic work. :D

Has anybody had any luck syncing your Google calendar? One thing that might make me go back to stock for now.

Wipe everything and flash the latest v5 and you should have no issues syncing anything. Make sure to use your gmail email only. Another user was trying to use ymail and that wont work.

Re: [RoM] AOSP 4.0.3 - updated 01/02

beezy,

Flashed your latest ROM yesterday and have been running it for the past 24 hours. Here's my rundown.

Flash: no issues
Boot: no issues; faster than vhgomez
Add-ons: no issues with gapps, battery mod (1%), or transparent power settings
Kernel: stock
Bluetooth: sent/received without issue
Calendar sync: no problems with default calendar or Business Calendar
GPS: could not lock -- maybe my location, clouds, service, etc. Will try later.
MMS: sent successfully; received successfully
Performance (objective): Smartbench score 768
Performance (subjective): fastest feeling ROM yet; I was partial to vhgomez, but this one is great!
Battery: good. 64% after 4 1/2 hours with >1h screen time and moderately heavy use; automatic brightness
Misc: slight delay when using Swiftkey X over android keyboard; not sure why.

Kernel: GLaDOS 2.7
OC: 1400 ondemand
Deep idle: TOP=ON, but no TOP=OFF (probably kernel issue)
Performance (objective): Smartbench score 1034

Very nice work, beezy.

Will definitely be using your ROM, and can't wait to see what you develop with the real stuff whenever it comes out.
Performance (subjective): Wow!

Re: [RoM] AOSP 4.0.3 - updated 01/02

I noticed that Beezy posted an update to G-apps.

Do I need to start over from the beginning to add this new update or can I just download the new zip move it to the SD card and flash just G-apps to the updated version without doing a data wipe and starting over?

Thanks for answering a noob.

Re: [RoM] AOSP 4.0.3 - updated 01/02

Beezy,

v5 of your ROM is stellar. I have been testing several of the the latest ROMs. Just came over from vhGomez which is fast and good battery on stock kernel. Have to say though, this version 5 is just as snappy, and I am using the baked in stock kernel. After just 6 hrs, 29 mins, my battery is still at 86%. That is with light to moderate use (texting, few medical apps, phone calls) I admit the screen time is only 14.5 mins and I have turned off all GPS since I am not using it. 4G is poor in my areas, but at my office I turned it on, had 1 bar, and surfed the web for about 3 minutes flawlessly. Didn't have time to try and download. I do sync my gmail constantly, but manually sync my other email accounts.

Keep up the good work.;)

Not using Facelock. Do miss the Reboot choice on the poweroff menu. Can this be ported?

You should be able to boot into recovery and just flash them. I installed after flashing the ROM, and after wiping cache and dalvik cache. More experienced users may suggest different way.
