it is only in alpha, not even beta so i would give it sometime, you probably will be able to later as they work out the bugs

After they perfected this, I'm hoping they can port over Honeycomb just for kicks!

I doubt your going to see Honeycomb. Also Ragnarokx just mentioned to me last night whe n we were chatting that Google has announced they are NOT releasing the source code for Honeycomb and if that is the case then doing any Honeycomb will be twice as hard.

I see lilttle point in running honeycomb. Most of the coolest parts of it are optimized for screens bigger than 7". Honestly Roms like CM, Viper, and ACE run completely different than stock and still maintain functionality geared toward small devices. I'm looking forward to things like the new dual screen kyocera that will one day have custom roms that share the best of both. But even that device is 4.7" with duals.

Unfortunately were gonna have to wait a few more days people. Dameon87 just posted that he won't have an update available tonight as planned. He is shooting for mid week.

@Paul627g you are so right about Google has annouced they will not release source code for Honeycomb. The article that I read also stated we have to wait until they relase the source code for Icecreame if they decide to release it or not. For the time being, I am ok if Demeon87 is able to have up and running Gingerbread.

You bet... Honeycomb is more directed at Tabs anyways.. GB would be something fresh and give everyone plenty to chew on for months and months to come...

Is it done yet?

Its mid week I am ready to try this out. Just waiting for alpha 2. Are they close to having it ready? I really need the GPS and camera to work to do this. It would be nice if they worked a little on the bluetooth too. I sync my cellphone with the house phone and not sure this will work after I jump on board with this. but, I am willing to live with out. GPS and camera are a must.

my understanding last i heard was the team was really stuck on gps and its holding things up quite a bit.

What ????

So basically it looks like the camera and GPS have not been fixed yet. Its hard to tell because they really is not much talk about what has been changed. Does anyone know if this version got gps and camera its the only thing holding me back. Maybe a list of what is not working in this version would be nice

Work in progress friend.. You got the best people working on it, and the remaining issues are some of the hardest to tackle.

For a 3 person crew you can't knock their progress...

I can't wait for this thing to hit beta. I need the GPS for work and I like having the camera for taking pics of the kids. Great work. I'll deffinatly be following the progress.

Not mad

I am by no means trying to complain about the devs, I think there work rocks and can't wait to use it. I was simply trying to determine what worked and what did not work. I need camera and gps to work before I can jump on board but I have no problem waiting. Heck they are moving lightning fast compared to Samsung who still have not perfected froyo. I wish a big cellphone maker would join sides with those who create custom roms and assist and add great stuff to their stuff. Its sad when 3 guys who I am sure are no where near millionaires can create stuff that billion dollar companies can not even come close to.

Alpha 3 has been release (on april fools day to boot) it is real, and has a few of its own bugs. You can find the link on post 940 in the xda. *important* no sdcard support for 32gb cards and before you flash it, you need to load up alpha 1, turn on wifi and power off. Then wipe dalvik only and flash alpha 3. Failure to do this will result in attempted use of wifi putting you in a 15 second boot loop.
