just thought everyone would like to know that if you install a theme from dj05 or di01 your phone will not boot past the samsung screen. not that i would be so stupid as to do such a thing. nope not me. im WAY smarter than that. :D

That is probably the one thing stopping me right now. I really like the gingerbread theme for dj05 I have on my phone. I wonder if the kernel fixes can be used with dj05?

you can run dj05 kernels, and radio, just not themes. i understand about liking the themes. i really like the blackish v.7. however if the aux out in the car dock works with this update i will stick with it. for me thats the most important thing. i will find out later today when the wife and i got to sears to get some power tools. :D

I installed the Superdark DJ05 theme with the same results, no boot. I then found the DL09 theme fix zip on XDA, installed, theme works now.

Edit - Not sure if all aspects of theme are the same. Texts used to be dark, unlock screen looks different. I tried several themes, all booted after applying fix (which has to be done each time)

the aux output of the car dock does not work. eeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr. oh well. i just saw about the theme fix, but its not worth it at this point to switch. i will stick with dj05 until stupid samsung and verizin release 2.2.

What is car dock?

FWIW, you do not want to use the kernel that Adryanle posted with this ROM. It has the same sound popping problem that was in the previous kernel. If you want to use this ROM, use it with the stupidfast 1.70 test kernel instead.

So how you like the rom with this? I'm tempted to install this tonight and see how it works.

At this point I would wait until the rumored January 10th MR2 update. I haven't noticed any difference between DJ05 and DL05. I will be flashing back to stock this weekend in preparation for the official release.

I am a bit late to this thread, but I think it comes down to some phones are just not undervolt friendly. My kernels are agressively undervolted, and that seems to be hit and miss for some people.

Yeah my phone must be one of the ones that doesn't agree with the undervolting, but it loves you for everything else you've done :)

I will definitely not be going back to stock. If this is Froyo, I doubt it, then I'll just wait till it's on xda. I'm running DJ05 now with no issues. I was just tempted to try out Adryanle's rom since it is cleaned up. I also think that DL09 is probably what we'll see next week.

i Would love to be there at CES during the Samsung press event when they get asked about all the update issues. DJ05 was great i would stay to vs waiting for whatever this update is

Is there more then one version of DJ05???

There is two ways of applying DJ05. Three part method or odin full flash. Then there are custom roms based on DJ05.

Also there is another leak out there DL05, but it appears to have no changes over DJ05

Cory, what will you be using to flash back to stock? I'm planning the same thing this weekend - currently on stock DJ05 with adrynalyne's 12/12 kernel, but not sure if I should use dirrk's method in sticky or adrynalyne's full odin flash on xda. Any tips/preference? Appreciate the help.

He will either use a Nandroid backup from stock or
[ODIN] Full DI01 ODIN Package - xda-developers
Which will bring you completely back to stock as if it was out of the box, this process will take a couple of minutes including the download, extremely easy

Odin - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/458252/Odin Files/Odin3 v1.3.exe

Stock 2.1- [ODIN] Full DI01 ODIN Package - xda-developers

Steps:
1. Pull battery from device
2. Open odin on desktop
3. Hold volume down button and plug device into computer
-This will place the device into download mode
4. Verify device shows up in odin
5. Click "PDA" button in odin (Never phone Area)
6. Select 2.1 file i just provided from where you downloaded it
7. Click "Start"
8. Enjoy your fixed /system partition!

you will be unrooted and fully bloated DI01 after flash. Good for returning to stock, or fixing your breaks.

If all I did was root.. should I worry about going back to stock for the anticipated update on the 10th?
