It's not just in beta1. It's been a CM9 issue since the beginning. But, we can :)live with that, don't you think?

They're both pretty cool. It's your choice. I like VVM, cuz you can see it visually without going into your voicemail.

Actually is all Android 4.0 builds. The facebook app needs to be updated.

Have you used Google Voice? Google Voice "is" a visual voicemail.

Hi,
After following the above mentioned steps my mobile is working perfectly on cm9 beta, but only problem is 3G stopped working. Earier when I was on Android 2.3.6, it used to work. Please let me know what to do now.

Re: [ROM][EPIC 4G][CM9] CM9: CyanogenMod v 9.0.0-BETA-0

I figured out the FB thing. Just downloaded an app that fixed it.

Now I can't seem to keep my battery charged. It's lost nearly 50% power in a few hours and i wasn't even using it. Now i have it on the charger and using it some. It's draining fast than the charger can charge it. The screen is on full dim. The signal also seems weaker than before. I love this mod but i can't use it if my battery wont last.

Sounds like what I had, a bad battery. Get the one for the Epic 4g Touch which is 1800Mah rather than the 1600Mah that the Epic 4g came with. I bought an OEM Samsung 1800Mah on amazon for cheap! Also, change your modem so you can get better signal reception and coverage....makes a world of a difference!

I just got this battery (1600) off amazon a few weeks back. wish i would have know about that one. the new battery worked well until just yesterday when I added beta 1. It seems to be poor service issue caused by Beta 1. I switched in to "Roam only" and now it's charging fine (with better service). I have been at the same desk for years with this phone and had no battery drain due to lack of service. Why would i have a weaker signal now?

Re: [ROM][EPIC 4G][CM9] CM9: CyanogenMod v 9.0.0-BETA-0

So it's been a few days since the Epic CM Team dropped CM9_Beta1........personally am always very heartened when one of these updates hits my Epic, as I have a very different relation to this device than I ever had w/ any phone that I have owned or operated in the past........largely, this is due to the pioneering use of the super-amoled screen that I immediately knew contained a sea of possibilities for me --and the super visual world that I live and play in-- when I acquired this device about one and a half years ago: I just knew that the game had changed.......(+ continues to change + evolve, largely due to our super-duper devs that never cease to astonish!)...........at any rate, don't know if anybody here noticed it, but one of the changes included w/ the beta1 release involved the Samsung mdnie, a sort of screen enhancement that was disabled as an intended color improvement...........this change drew an immediate response from members of the Epic community who apparently experienced an optical change in their ability to view their screens w/ the same resolution as they had been able to do prior to the disabling of mdnie..........am including w/ this post, several links of interest, especially for those of you that may have been potentially visually impacted somehow:

Re-posted here, two test shots: mdnie enabled + mdnie disabled.........interesting, em?
xda-developers - View Single Post - [POLL] Who wants to enable Samsung's mdnie on CM9?
(thanks to Marcusant for this test)

"How to temporarily ENABLE mdnie": found this posted over on the Epic CM Google+ page.......this patch will enable mdnie temporarily, but you will have to flash it again after a reboot:
http://128.171.104.149/~warren/boot_beta1_with_mdnie.zip
This is a CWM flashable kernel for CM9beta1.......for good results: from CWM, wipe cache, wipe dalvik THEN flash zip.

And, a view towards the possibility of an option for us.............perhaps on a future release (beta2?)
Gerrit Code Review
From the EpicMTDGerrit page (on OP).....Thank You Epic CM Team for this!

There you have it, hope this helps some of our members somehow :D .......Big Props to our CM Team for all of your efforts on our behalf..........you keep astonishing us!!! ;)

I've been back and forth on this MDNIE issue, and I think I prefer MDNIE on (how it was with all of the CM9 Epic 4G builds until Beta 1). There's definitely cases where I can hardly detect a difference, and others where the difference is much more pronounced. I think it would if the CM9 Devs are able to provide a choice to enable/boot with MDNIE On/Off.

Although honestly, I still find myself flashing the CM9 ShadowKernel - I've found overall it feels a bit more stable, gives me a little bit better battery life, and prefer the colors it provides. Of course, each individual's mileage will vary ;)

I prefer mdnie off.

Everything is softer, smoother, and easier on the eyes. Before Beta1 I had to keep text at the normal size. Now I have text on small and it is easily legible.

Some people like to set their TV picture to Vivid mode and some like their TV on Movie mode. Its just a personal choice.

I have to strongly agree with this statement. The Epic has lived up to it's name. This phone (that was once the king of the Android hill) is still a great device that can keep up with today's dual core phones and the keyboard is still the best available on any phone, IMO. I don't think I will be looking to upgrade until sometime next year.

Re: [ROM][EPIC 4G][CM9] CM9: CyanogenMod v 9.0.0-BETA-0

So yesterday, I connect my phone to my work PC so I can listen to some of my tracks. I used Winamp AND didn't sync anything with it. I was having a problem getting my PC to update the driver for my phone so I disabled the debugging feature and connected easily after that. Disconnected properly when it was time to go home but when I got in my car and tried to start the ICS music player, the screen goes black and then I get a message saying "Unfortunately, Music has stopped" and an ok option at the bottom of the message to press. So I reboot and same thing....I hard reboot and nada....I reflashed beta 1 and still NOTHING! Seems like my ICS music player is broken! I went to the market and DLed the android music player and it works fine but I'd like to get my ICS music player back up and running. Anyone know how I can fix this problem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Try this. Menu, manage apps, all, music player, clear data. Attempt to relaunch it and see if the issue persists.
