[ROM] ICS SDK Port [WIP]

so when I installed this just now my phone rebooted into the bootloader with no recovery or boot image. luckily I have the one click bootloader unlock app on my computer, and it flashes recovery in the process without wiping if it's already unlocked....so a quick reflash & nandroid restore and I'm back. But I thought I should mention that it did happen. I'm staying with v2 until there's another update, because I don't like having to go through reflashing recovery, etc

Did you do a full wipe first? That was recommended. I just flashed dirty alpha and didn't have any issues....maybe a bad download???.......

Have you tried going into Settings/Apps and clear cache/data on Settings and see if that helps?

I am by no means a developer or have a greater knowledge about the Android platform, but I'd like to suggest something:

Proposal: I think the persistent sync icon is a server-side issue. That is, I think when the Google Android account-holding servers recognize that you are running ICS, there is a sync issue because of updated stock applications.

Reasoning: After trying out ICS and having a boot-looping problem, I preformed a clockworkmod recovery factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, and wipe battery stats, then installed Peter Alfonso's Bugless Beast GPA18 ROM. Even in this ROM, I am having the same persistent sync icon problem.

In Progress: I will be unrooting/returning to stock to see if the persistent sync icon problem still exists. Either way, I will update this post with that information in hopes that Beezy, Warttack, or any of the other developers working on this project.

[UPDATE] I preformed the above task (refer to "In Progress" section) and found out that stock, unrooted Gingerbread does not experience this issue anymore. I think that means that this is a problem interior to the ROM (or perhaps even my phone/account, I don't know). Do any of the developers see this issue?

P.S.: Thanks Charles for acknowledging me. From a newbie... It's pretty cool.

Thats an issue with GPA18, install his nightly from 10-13 and it will go away.

I have problem with market, is there any way for me to uninstall this new market and instal the old one?
I already deletd market updater from root explorer>syestem>app>market updater
But still can't uninstal the new market...

I know this is a port of the SDK emulator just curious if anyone else is having problems with exchange email accounts? If it wasn't for that I think it would be 100% functional for my needs.

I am an IT Admin with Exchange 2007 server access and mine works great so far, email-cal-contacts... I have had a few force closes on email when typing a response.

Just did a fresh install of your latest (dirty2.3). Everything is running great. Using the Calendar and Gmail widgets. They are smooth as silk. Everything I have tried so far works. GPS seems to not want to lock on, but I have not played with it enough.

This can be used as a daily for sure.

Yea I work in IT we are on 2010 exchange I get force close from the email app when I try to set up the account

Only problem I could find was when I try and re-name folders after I reboot my phone the name doesn't save.

I had also pointed this out to beezy. He would look into it.

This is because there is no app called "Contacts" anymore, it's called Peoples now. WhatsApp doesn't know to look into Peoples, but searches for Contacts.

same here... hopefully as time goes by and it gets updated they will take care of those small bugs...

I think the problem is if i allow google to "restore" previous information back on too my phone, because when i allowed that, i got FC again, when i did not, no FC.

yea dont allow google to restore... sounds like trouble. Just like issues with restoring in Titanium Backup... can cause issues for you.

same here, using Exchange 2010 and get a force close whenever I try to setup my account. that is the only thing that has me switching back and forth with a Gingerbread ROM

so far at least for me everything else works great, small issues with Facebook not loading but that's not important.

this is a company issued phone though and I work in IT so I need Exchange working.

keep up the GREAT work, can't wait until I can switch to ICS full time.

This would probably take an update from WhatsApp to support ICS and the change in locations...
