rom keeps boot looping...help

Any Nandroid backup (or individual Titanium Backup) files are safe because you are wiping the phone's internal flash memory, not the microSD card.

You will have to re-install Titanium backup to recover anything you backed up with it, but as soon as it finds your backup folder when you first start it you are all set. You don't have to link anything.

Don't forget to flash the gapps if you want the Android Market, Gmail, and the like.

got busy but i will try this tonight and update as soon as i can

update: i got it to work....now is there anyway to get the data from my back up such as txt msgs, and programs or do am i like starting from scratch?

If you used Titanium Backup, you can restore your apps and their data, but if you didn't, you are just like starting from scratch. Text messages are pretty much lost unless you were using Google Voice or Handcent and you registered an online account IIRC.

If you made a Nandroid backup of your phone before installing CM7 and assuming you were running a rooted stock ROM you could do the following:
  1. Reboot into recovery
  2. Make a Nandroid backup of CM7
  3. Restore your previous Nandroid
  4. Install Titanium Backup from the Android Market
  5. Back up the individual apps you want to restore
  6. Turn the phone off and go back into Recovery using he Power + Vol Down
  7. Restore your CM7 Nandroid
  8. Install Titanium Backup
  9. Restore your apps

thank you a ton.....although i did get it to work i ran into some pretty crucial bugs imo so i will be on the hunt for a new rom try....thank you again

You're welcome!

I've been running CM7 for a few weeks now. What bugs are you experiencing?

the two biggest ones for me were not being able to send a text or being able to hang up a phone call without pulling the battery....i restored my backup and all was well....other than those 2 things i had no complaints

I have not experience either of those bugs. I do have a bit of a delay between when I take the phone away from my head after a call and the proximity sensor turns the screen back on for me to hang up but it has always shown up.

My text messages are working fine as well.
