I was able to restore back to TrulyEpic. I did have a small problem installing the zip file to my SD card. I had to retry 3 times. Would it make a difference that I installed the ROM and midnight theme before rebooting? Should I install the ROM, then go into Clockwork and install the theme?
Yes, it does make a difference. When installing a ROM you should always boot into it at least once before flashing a theme.
Update: v2.0.9
I'm running 2.1.1 and am having a problem w/email FC. My GMail is working fine. I also installed the Midnight theme 2.08, but I failed to check email prior to installation of this theme. So Idk if it's the theme or the ROM causing the problem. Anyone else having this problem??
The kernel is flashed just like any other kernel, it's formatting your file system from RFS to EXT4 that is the hurdle. I can do a write up of what I did if you like.

OK. I recently installed ROM 2.1.1 and love it now that I figured out the email situation.
But, for us Android noobies - what is EXT4 and how does it improve the non-EXT4 platform?
Is there a link to the 2.2 non-EXT4 update for those that may not want it? I saw the link earlier, but the OP updated the link to 2.2 w/EXT4 and I did not get a chance to d/l it.
thanks.
UPDATE: OK I found out what the EXT4 does via (http://forum.androidcentral.com/epic-4g-roms-hacks/51423-epic-lag-fix-rfs-ext4-conversion.html) and feel a little insecure about doing this process. Should I stick w/2.1.1 ROM for now?
