[ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 05/02/2014

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

No sd ext script, so you don't have to have a partition on the sd card to use it. I would suggest making a 1.5GB partition on a 16GB sd card or a 1.0GB partition on an 8GB sd card if you plan on using Link2SD. I use Link2SD with this so I have a UI and more control and can put my widget apps onto the internal storage as well as move apps back and forth between system and sd partition. Link2SD is also the best at deleting system app that I don't need. With Link2SD I have 83 downloaded apps and still have over 90MB of free space on the internal storage.

How did you download all those apps and not run out of space ? I've download like 10 apps only have 27 mb left ?

That's the advantages of using link2sd with an ext partition on your sd-card

Backup your sdcard to a computer because making one will wipe your card.
Flash zengarden recovery
In recovery there's an option to partition your sdcard. Unfortunately you won't be able to make a very big one on a 2gb card. There's also an option in zengarden to convert the partition to ext4.

All that said I'm sure there's a guide around that would explain it better then me if you still have questions

Can you use xionia cwma ?

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

You will need to use a 8GB micro SD card or bigger.
The resaon is you cannot use more than 20% of the actual space available on an SD card for the ext.4 formatted partition. Link2SD requires at least a 1GB partition to work properly. 20% of a 4 GB card is only 800MB.
You can get a 8 or 16 MB micro SD card from WallMart pretty cheap. If you can afford to, get the Sandisk class 4 (it has the best read speed). The 16GB should be more than you ever need.
Once you get a bigger SD card go here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/695963-link2sd-tutorial-new-updated-version.html

Personally speaking:
Xionia was good for the Froyo ROMs, but with the Gingerbread, ICS, and Jellybean ROMs it's not so good at wiping all the data.
If you do use it, make sure you:
Wipe and format everything but the sd card 3 times.

Hey Andy, just thought i'd let you know, I love the rom. Flashed it Sunday morning and running 480min and 748max with interactive x gov, no fc's or reboots at all, but i'm gonna wear out the fast reboot app.

Couple concerns, sometimes when I reboot, I loose some apps off the screens ,not widgets, any ideas?

I put the 3g fix from mirage in the sysctl.conf file, doesn't seem to work as good and when I turn data off the 3g turns off but still says 3g in the statusbar, no big deal :)

Just F.Y.I., I was using the app adfree, after flashing the rom, I went to download new hosts, kept getting error java ehoh error or something like that. I thought it had something to do with the rom, but when I got tired of trying to fix the problem, I went to XDA and everyone was having the same problem, so they had a link for adaway, seems they're all switching, so I did and it's working great.

Also, in playstore, there's an update for SuperSu its 1.8.5 didn't want to update cause it looks like it could be a problem, wanted your opinion before updating. Also an update for Touchwiz theme?

Just one more thing, ( I think) :) I went to delete the gallery and it also deleted the camera, but I copied one from the Bean_Whiz zip that I left on my sd card just in case something like that happened. Is there any way to delete gallery without loosing the camera?

Sorry for all the questions, I know your very busy! and thanks again for all the work you and the kraven put into this!!!

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

That was a mouth full. Lol.

As far as the apps disappearing and having to use Fast Reboot like crazy, it sounds like Android System Tuner app or Xposed Installer messing things up. Reflash ROM, fix, and gapps to get back the Gallery/camera and don't use Xposed installer or Android System Tuner. I'm checking on a replacement permissions manager that will work with this ROM.
Also: Go to first post. I linked to a post here, where I explained the best way to install the ROM from wipe to finished app restore and clean.

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

I have the camera /gallery installed again, that's why I left Bean_Whiz.zip. On the sdcard, I got it from there and copied and pasted in system app with root browser.

I haven't seen any app called system tuner? or xposed installer?

I did read your posts a couple of times on how to install, I did delete alot of stuff to get the internal storage space up.

Still running stock sdcard, but with 22 apps I still have 74mb internal space left, plenty room!

I know how busy you are, but man a list of things we could safely delete would be so helpful, I look at all the system apk's, half of them I don't have a clue of what they're for.

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

Thanks, yea I read that many many times, it's pretty basic. I know that there are alot of system apk's that can be deleted as well, I deleted some but I need more specific details.

?? It goes over a lot of system apps, their purpose and whether they are safe to remove or not... Actually it's all about system apps...

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

Sorry for delay in response.
The ROM itself is as lean as I could get away with. I would only delete the E-Mail app, one of the Launchers, one of the keyboards, one of the themes, the setup wizard, The browser (if you already have another installed), and Dev tools. Anything more might cause problems.

I kind of figured you would make it as lean as possible.

I really like the Xperia keyboard by the way, this is definitely going to be my daily driver for awhile, :p
Thanks again!

EDIT : Really like the stock browser too, what am i sayin, love everything about this, nice having a change!

Re: [ROM][MOD][THEME] Bean_Whiz-CM10 Updated 10/14/2013

The way it ended up working out, when you get tried of the S4 theme it's super easy to revert back to thekravens SlimRom theme (as long as you didn't delete the components of the theme).

Yeap! Xperia keyboard is pretty cool.

PS: You get every thing straightened out?

EDIT: Almost forgot. Never link a terminal emulator.
I just tried to flash a different recovery, but the terminal was linked (silly rabbit, trix are for kids). Borked the whole recovery partition. Ended up having to:
Put a recovery in the same folder as my fastboot.exe was in, in the sdk folder.
Put phone into fastboot screen.
Plug phone into computer
Opened terminal in the same folder as my fastboot.exe was in (best, instead of cding to)
Typed in
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery_th7.img

Obviously getting into the fastboot screen on some S and V phones will be so difficult as to be one big pain in the neck.
I think I'll mention this in my first post.

PS2: I also renamed the recovery's on the computer with a terminal just to be on the safe side.
I opened a terminal in the same folders as my recovery's and typed in:
Code:
rename[COLOR="#FF0000"]_[/COLOR](name of recovery)[COLOR="#FF0000"]_[/COLOR](name you want to change it to, as long as it has a .img on the end)
No ('s, just the name.
The red _ are just where the spaces are, don't type them in.
In Linux substitute "rename" for "mv".

Man i'm glad i didn't have all that trouble, i would have been pullin my hair out. :-\

Well everything is runnin pretty much as smooth as MiRaGe. But still when i reboot, i'm missing my downloaded apps from the screens?
I am wandering if it's because i didn't clear the playstore data?
On your first page, you told me to clear market data after restoring my apps with titanium backup. The first time i flashed i restored everything from TB and noticed the market wasn't working, then i cleared data and everything was fine until i had that problem with LBC Privacy Gaurd.

This time i flashed the rom, restored with titanium and playstore was still working so i didn't clear data.

My question, should i clear market data now, is it safe to do this?

Also, sometimes when i turn on sync Google has a pop-up, it says ( sync your app data now) Should i do it or not?

One more thing "sorry ";-) I put the touchscreen recovery th-7.img file on my sdcard but forgot about it so i ended up flashing and made a nandroid with the zengarden recovery.
Everything went smooth.

Thanks for all your help "DEEPLY APPRECIATE IT":)

There's your problem. LBE privacy guard. It doesn't play well with CM-10.
Neithet does Android System Tuner.
Still trying to find on that works in CM-10.

No no no.... I learned my lesson the first time, i don't use privacy gaurd anymore.

What about playstore data?

OK? Maybe you can break down everything you did from the time of first boot, till it started to act goofy.
Maybe I can figure out what went wrong.
PS: You don't need to wipe PlayStore data anymore. You shouldn't have any problems with it unless you install a bad app that messes things up.
