[ROM] Quantum v2.7.0

How stable is this rom for everyday use? I have no real complaints with my phone (minus GPS, first time I've been this satisfied without rooting/hard resetting for a WHILE), but I'm just tired of waiting for official Froyo.

The DK17 version of Froyo seems to be very stable. I'd say there is a good possibility of getting daily use out of this ROM (haven't tried it myself yet).

What does it mean when it says it requires the DK17 modem? Is that something I need to flash prior to flashing the rom?

Yes, I believe at this point that the modem is only flashable via Odin. Doing it now myself.

To restore to 2.1 do I need to get the 2.1 modem?

Or will restoring and making sure my right kernel is there do the trick?

Trying to flash the DK17 modem? If so, read the instructions one more time (in case you missed something) and try again. I've had Odin freeze on me the same way - when I repeated the same procedure it worked.

From the description on XDA, this is supposed to support Hulu - but I can't get it working. Didn't upgrade my Flash per the instructions. Anybody got Hulu working on this ROM?

i feel like a noob. im going to need a walkthrough on this.

so first i download odin
2. do i put my phone into download mode?
3. get the modem onto my phon
4. flash rom
is that right?

I'll give you the procedure I used. I did it this way so I could play with stock Froyo for a few minutes before installing Quantum.

1) Download and install stock Froyo w/modem using this procedure

2) Now you're ready for Quantum, so download and install using this

sweet ill give that a try ASAP.

Which do you like more stock froyo, quantum, or baked snack?
Or maybe another froyo rom

Not fair to compare BS w/Quantum because Quantum is pretty much stock Froyo since we don't have the source code to tweak it yet. Quantum is better than stock as it fixes some FC's and adds some nice features.

Quantum is surprisingly stable and super fast, even without overclocking. I'd say performance is on par with Baked Snack at 1.2GHz. Plus all the extra goodies/changes that come with Froyo are nice.

The only problems I've had so far is Airplane Mode occasionally getting stuck when I'm toggling it on/off for TWS (with a reboot fixing it), and the phone eating a good amount of battery overnight. I think it may be an overactive WiFi, so I tried turning on the setting to let WiFi sleep when the screen is off and will see if this helps.

Overall Froyo is ready - no need to wait for the official release.

Edit: charging seems to be faster now. I went from 32% to 79% in 40 minutes.

damn well i got the modem.

now i forgot to put the rom on my phone before booting into windows via bootcamp.

i guess theres no way to access the files on the opposite partition unless im in a virtual machine? did not forsee this. oh well going to finish the episode of how i met your mother i loaded and go back to mac os.
unless someone can tell me a way to access the files from windows?
id redownload but i dont want to wait 30 mins when i can just reboot

Are you saying you have the ROM zip on your OSX partition, and you want to access it from Windows? The Windows partition should be accessible from "My Computer" - look in the same place that a mounted drive would be. Then just navigate to the proper folder and copy/paste the zip.

yeah i thought that i was able to access the partition like the way you easily can on osx.
but for some reason i just couldnt find the drive folder.

oh well i just rebooted and got it all figured out. but theres one thing i do not like about froyo, when i push the search button, it takes a second for it to pull up a new google search thing. on 2.1 it popped up instantly and seemed like it was integrated seemlessly. so i hope thats straightened out when its official cuz i find it annoying, i hit the search button a lot
