My battery life is great. I'm a heavy user, and on 2.2.4 I can get 12-14 hours or so before the device konks out. I have no clue how some other people CLAIM to get these crazy number of hours on a battery charge. I think most of them are are embellishing quite a bit. I mean really, these are Android phones, they're known for not so great battery life, that's just the way it is. An EVO out of the box will get maybe 6 hours.

So if I can make it home after a long work day before my battery craps out, I'm a very happy camper.

Just because you can not get good battery life does not make the ones that do crazy, I for one can get 24 to 48 hours on one charge with reborn and i have done write ups on them too. Maybe you are not just setting your phone up right! I just did a write up for drews CM7 which I had 39% charge left after 25 hours off of the charger, I even said that I think it can be better cause with reborn I would have still had 50 - 60 % left. So before you start calling people crazy just because you can not do something maybe ask how they do it!

You're crazy...

Just kidding! I was curious though, do you leave your internet on? I find if I have my 3g on I get maybe 15-20 hours...but if I turn off my 3G that pretty much doubles....

I could be wrong, but couldn't you just use SetCPU to have it "set on boot" at 600mhz, and then flash a rom without wiping data?

You are wrong. The device does not get past the boot process, it just goes to the LG splash. "Set on boot" only works once you have booted, and all these roms assume you can finish booting with an OC'ed kernel, which isn't necessrily the case.

Hey guys I have a quick question. I am sorry if this has been asked before, but there are so many pages in these threads.

My power button is broke. Is there any add-on to any of these roms that can kinda, assign a certain button to mimic the action of another. I know theres those AnyLock or whatever and I use QuickBoot to get into recovery and everything, but I really need something that, if my phone ever shuts off, I can turn it on again without using a charger to kick it on.

Any suggestions? Warranty is voided because phone was dropped in water, and the only thing wrong with it is it occasionally shuts down. Very occasionally. Im running this ROM if it helps.

Thanks!

Ok, how do you do it?

Haha yes, I have asked that question several times myself and never got an answer. I think we can assume that to be functional, we need some kind of data connectivity on all of the time. Obviously, if you turn wifi and 3g off, you will get much better battery life, but they what's the point of a smart phone?

I actually get pretty decent battery life most of the time, but it's around 5-6% an hour with very little usage. I have no idea how folks get 2-3% an hour, maybe they never turn the screen on and have an excellent signal? Or Leave the phone on airplane mode? :)

I have yet to determine whether wi fi uses more power than 3g. Yes, I have it set to stay on when the screen is off, but it still seems to drain the battery faster than switching off wi fi and just using the 3g, which doesn't really make sense to me.

Yes! You can remap your hardware keys. See the following thread:

Good luck!

I just rooted last week and after reading a bunch of threads, I chose this as my first ROM to flash, and I think I made a very good choice. I'm quite interested in Drew's CM project, but I need stability on my device now. I have had to fix a few bugs, mostly relative to the Music player and Gallery, but easily found answers right here in the forums. :) Is that a different music player than the stock or just a newer version than stock folks get? Kudos to Nick and those involved in making this project the success that it is.

I do have a small suggestion, though, to aid those of us who are not accustomed to the functionality that this ROM brings... The main pull-down menu, which has 6 icon switches, 5 of which I recognized... perhaps explain what the sixth on the far right means in the first post here? I am a technically inclined guy and I have used the stock widget with the other 5 icons included and was baffled by the 6th icon. I first thought it meant tethering, but that didn't make sense after exploring. No jaywalking?? I was baffled by that one until tonight when I was browsing the theme section and found a few that used text instead of icons for this bit. Auto-rotate? Cool to have a toggle for that, but who'd have though that is what it meant/did? I'm just saying... having all these toggles in the drop-down is a feature, why not explain how it is beneficial up there? Really, a solid features list would answer what was on my mind and what may be on others when they come here, too:
What can this ROM do for me that stock doesn't? ;)

Again, thank you for the great work!

Haha yeah you are definitely not the only one who has asked that. I will write up a nice little tutorial for the ROM's features after work today :D

Hi all-

I have a Bluetooth pairing problem.

I have reborn 2.2.2 on one phone and 2.1 on another phone.

The 2.1 can pair with my 2011 Sienna AND play bluetooth audio...my 2.2.2 phone pairs too but will not play audio.

Is this possibly a reborn rom issue or is there something I did wrong in the pairing process of one of the phones?

Thanks,
Mike

The best way to test that would be to restore a stock nandroid image and try it.

Also, a short introduction video was added to post 2. This was my first tuto/intro video I have ever made, comments/suggestions?

Its not a Rom issue, I have had Reborn from 2.1 all the way to 2.2.4 and bluetooth worked on all of them, For phone calls and playing music! Trust me I use my bluetooth everyday at work to listen to music, and it sync's with my car with no problems. 2.2.2 was my favorite one! That is the one i currently have as a nandroid save on my phone to switch between CM7 and ReBorn.
