Sry if these questions were answered, i read the first 80 pages, and the last 30 or so...

1) what's the prefered method of freeing up space? I can't use CM7+data2ext. I looked at darktremor's 2.7.5.3 Beta 04, but it didn't work. they said
ROMS THAT ARE ORM (ORIGINAL ROM FROM MANUFACTURER...ALSO KNOWN AS STOCK ROMS) WILL NOT RUN ANY VERSION OF APPS2SD EXCEPT FROYO.
is this considered ORM?

2) In the first many pages of this thread there is talk about flashing noIQagent.zip, since I dont see it on my flash and its not in the instructions, does that mean its not used anymore?

I was Reborn 2.2.2 a while back when VD was a requirement. I then chose to move on to CM7. Now, i want to come back to Reborn 2.2.4, but here is my questions. I'm currently on Drews CM7 but when I check my baseband it says "Unknown". Can I come back to Reborn 2.2.2 or must I update my baseband again before I come back?

I went from Drew's CM7 to Reborn without issue. Just followed the instructions, including cashing basketthis' debug file.

Nope, your good to go. Changing roms does not change your baseband. Cm7 just displays it as unknown.

Did you do a nandroid of your stock 2.2.2 Roms or of one of the reborn Roms? IF you did all you have to do is restore one of them first and everything should be good to go! Then flash the Reborn 2.2.4.

Here is my current problem when I was on Reborn 2.2.2 I had drellisdee Custom Recovery and I did full nandroid backup of 2.2.2 which I still have on my SD, but when I went to CM7 I had to install Xionia Recovery.

Can do a restore with Xionina even though I backed up Reborn 2.2.2 with drellisdee Custom Recovery?
I am afraid to try which is why I am asking

Yep, you sure can. I ran thunderc up until just a few days ago when I made the switch to xionia. I just tested one of my old backups and it worked fine with xionia.

I'm still using thunderc. What made you make the switch?

Honestly....... nothing in particular. I had great success with thunderc. I ran cm7 roms just fine too. I just wanted to try something else. I will tell you what's nice about xionia though, you can access and flash zips that are in subfolders on your SD card. As you know with thunderc, they have to be on the root of the card.

One last thing I had forgotten to mention was, is there any modification such that I can increase the size of the phones internal space? By that I mean, on cm7 there is a mod, data2ext, & that increased my storage space. Is there anything like that on reborn?

Same steps should work. That said, nandroid. :) I think it took 2 tries before I got it to work correctly.

I don't understand why it is not working for me, which is weird because when I was in cm7. I have done it easily over 4 times without any trouble.

what were your steps to getting data2ext working on Reborn 2.2.4?

Edit: Just to clarify what I did - I booted into recovery and followed all the steps. Eveything went fine. I flashed the zip, then "data2ext --enable" and rebooted. When I rebooted the phone, I went to check the storage and it still says 153MB free. Even though I did a 1GB partition.

You know, it might be an issue with the kernel not supporting ext partitions correctly, I seem to remember something about that. (Been on cm7 for awhile) You could try using the app link 2 SD with a fat32 partition, doesn't give nearly as much room, but it's better than adjusting kernels.

So I'm Slightly New to Android I've had the LG Optimus S Since January, and just Now rooted the Phone. I have ROM Manager on there, and have put the Recovery ROM on SD, and when i click to Install from SD, it pops up i select to clear Cache and Delvik and all that, but when it boots it just boots up the Android recovery, i can't get into the Clockwork Recovery page to turn off the Signature Verification either, which i think is part of my problem, LOL can someone help steer me in the right direction?????

Just an FYI, I'm on ThundreC ver 2.2.1 and it allows you to flash from any folder.
