As blackops stated, it's ZVH, not ZHD. This ROM is based on the ZVD baseband, and requires it to function properly. If you wanted the ZVH baseband and software (Android 2.3 instead of 2.2), you could upgrade to ZVH stock, then root again and put a ZVH based ROM on your phone (gRom, Your Mom ROM, etc.).

Be warned though, many people are having issues with ZVH and Sprint has promised a future update to fix them with no ETA. I myself upgraded to ZVH (on gROM) and lost GPS functionality.

Hi Nick,

First off, I want to thank you for putting in the time to develop your rom. I've been using it since I first got my Optimus back in April of this year. Anyways, I've been recently having problems with my phone overheating and the battery discharging really quickly. I brought it into the Sprint store (after reverting back to stock of course) and they first replaced the battery for me but the problem persisted. Just yesterday, I brought it in again and they actually replaced it with a brand new phone out of the box.

As soon as I got home, I installed the latest Reborn 2.2.4. I charged it to full overnight and noticed that from the time I left my house this morning until now (about 2 hours), I'm down to 65% battery already without really doing much of anything.

I was hoping you could make some suggestions as to what I shoudl be looking for as far as possible causes go. Thank in advance for any help.

Maybe you can advise, Jon. When I updated to ZVH I lost GPS, and I tried all 3 ROMs including Your Mom. None of them restored my GPS. Right now I'm using gROM, and I recently updated to the newest GingerKernel, reading somewhere that it would fix GPS issues. It didn't. Is there a proven combination of ROM/Kernel that will restore GPS broken by ZVH update?

Def shouldn't be draining that fast. Is this the clean ROM before you've installed anything? If not, I would guess you installed an app that is always running and draining the battery; I would check the running apps/processes and see if anything looks amiss. Also, if you are using email sync other than gmail, see how frequently you are checking for new mail.

Yeah this is a fresh install of Reborn on a brand new phone before I installed anything else. The only apps I've installed was the Amazon app store and Opera Mini. Everything else is whatever came with the rom. I could check the running apps/processes but I wouldn't know what I should be looking for as far as anything being amiss.

I noticed that the notes for 2.2.4, it says that the "collin_ph tweak" is disabled by default. Isn't that the battery save mod? Maybe that's the issue? Up until now I was running 2.2.2 without any battery issues.

Do whatever works for you. The collin_ph tweak is kind of an alternative to the smartass governor that is defaulted in Reborn. Give it a try. Or if an earlier version gives you better results use it. I have all the previous versions uploaded to mediafire (check link in sig).

Personally I have found that with any device my battery usually sucks after a fresh install. It takes a few runs through the battery to build battery stats. And if you are constantly checking your phone and having the screen on that doesn't help either

Personally I would suggest that you upgrade to ZVH and give yourmomrom a shot until HydroROM comes out but if this sounds like too much work then try one of my suggestions.

All these people having problems must be user related. This was my first rom after rooting and even as a NOOB I had no problem with this ROM for months! Do a complete wipe cache/data and try again.

I recently switched to CM7.2 by thekraven and while I love it I still miss RebornRom! Keep up the good work!

Ye with the battery problem, try clearing your battery stats/data. You could also use the included Spare Parts app to get a quick idea of your battery's health.

Thinking of your issue, I just remembered another instance recently where a coworker brought me his phone and it was giving these crazy "out of space" errors when there was plenty of internal memory. I uninstalled Advanced Task Killer (known malware app) from his device, rebooted and it's been great for over a week now. If you're have ATK, just get rid of it.

I'm most likely going to be giving my Optimus to my wife (and upgrading mine) because she's dropped her phone a few too many times. If I have Sprint transfer the phone number assigned to the Optimus from mine to hers, do I need to revert the phone back to stock ROM or can I keep it on Reborn ROM?

I know when I did this with the blackberry way back when, Sprint had me do factory resets and such.

Yeah, go back to the section you want to open a thread in, and in the upper left corner just above the stickies section is an icon that says "new thread". Perhaps that is what you are looking for.

Yes you can change phones. Just did it to our phones couldnt do it online had to call. I told them i bought the phone rooted on ebay lied and i couldnt execpt ota updates so she had me dial ##and some numbers then # it brought me to a menu where i put her number in and a another number and it worked....Had to do a profile update before i got 3g back. Seems to be working great....Side note the phone is on radio-vd running Reborn 2.2.4 didnt have a problem....Hope this helps...

Thanks! I was able to transfer my phone to my wife without reverting back to the stock ROM. When I told the person at Target Wireless that they couldn't do a factory reset, they went into the dialer and manually switched the phone number to my wife's.

I just want to thank Nick for creating this AWESOME ROM. I already miss it. The new phone is a lot faster, though, so I am enjoying that.
