If there are any menial tasks that I could do to help lemme know. I loved ReBorn for the 2.2 and would be willing to help out with any simple/tedious crap.

Any chance of switching to GO Launcher EX in the next version? I love the simplicity of the ported LG Home, but when only the "Settings" option when pressing Menu has any use, it seems a bit less than featured to me. GO might take up a bit more space, but it is free and seems worth it. Also, maybe the GB keyboard? I really like the text select features of that one. Besides, Swype is fun and all, as long as you don't have a vocabulary with words greater than 5 letters.

In reference to the official Gingerbread update just released (I couldn't tell if you were referring to a new Reborn ROM based off the Gingerbread or froyo source...): The official 2.3.3 Gingerbread keyboard is not that great. It has no dictionary. Literally, the only suggestions are for your contacts and if you want a dictionary, you will need to tediously add words on your own...

To be sure, I was referring to new Reborn based on the new GB update. I have not yet moved that way because the current Reborn 2.2.4 is way more stable and has a better satisfaction rate. I have modified it a bit and still feel it is the best option for this device at present, although I look forward to future ROM's based on the official GB package.

My experience with the GB keyboard comes from a combination of sROM and Drew's CM7 (both Froyo-driven), where it worked splendidly, including proper word suggestion and text select. I am hoping that a native build from the GB stock will provide the same functionality. I ask this because Froyo Reborn does not include a stock keyboard. But if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

I really missed the auto-correct of an Android keyboard until I installed "Steven Lin's Keyboard from Android 2.3". It's a great GB-style keyboard. Only thing I wish it had (since I'm still on Reborn and Froyo doesn't do text-selection as well as GB does) is the option to use the volume buttons to move cursor the way the option is implemented in the HTC_IME mod keyboard (v27) by jonasl@xda.

Yeah the new GB keyboard will be a big disappoint if you are expecting something like the one's included in the ROMs. BTW, Drew's CM7 is pure GB, not froyo...

Selecting "More Info" then pulling the battery worked for me to prevent the notifications from reappearing with this ZVH update. Can't tell you if Reborn will actually prevent the update from happening (I'm not going to try) but it does not prevent the update notification from appearing.

oh wow, I honestly didn't know there was a new update till I was l lurking this thread. has anyone else not had anything pop up on their phone about it? and I'll keep this in mind if/when I get that notification! thank you!

The update hasn't been pushed to my phone but if I'm not mistaken, you do not want to accept it. It can brick your phone.

I was on ReBorn and it showed as available but didn't install or download to mine until I did it manually so that I could root after.

agree! swype is my keyboard for life! lol

I really like the Swype beta, but I've noticed it drains my battery. Whenever I notice my battery draining faster than usual, I check Android Assistant and it says that Swype is using 15-20% of the battery, while all the other apps are below 3%. Do you get any battery drain with the beta version? Anyone have any ideas how to fix it?

And just a comparison, I've been trying other keyboards, SlideIt, SwiftKey X, and the stock Reborn keyboard, and none of them use more than 2% battery. Thanks for the help!

Apparently, LG/Sprint has stopped releasing the ZVH update. There were reportedly quite a few issues:
Difficulty or inability to charge phone
Sporadic access to memory card
Phone not recognized through USB
General device slowness

Nick, does this mean ZVH development will/should be halted until they iron out their issues? :(

I am getting this information from my work's phone rep, who is getting it from Sprint.
