[ROM] RvU 1.3.2 WORKING 4G!!! Sync Fixed / ROM Manager Support

alright, this is what my logcat says in red. it just keeps repeating it periodically.

E/TelephonyPrivider( 1368): Failed setting numeric "310120" to the current operator.

Hope your foot isn't raw.lol
Have you tried wipeing everything and reflashing to see if it would solve it.

updated to 1.3.2 first with no wipe then tried with wipe, and on fresh boot still do not have friendstream widget. i do have the app in the app drawer but no widget in the list.

Am I the only one not experiencing any problems so far?.. I flashed via recovery and wiped before I flashed...everything works as it should..I was able to charge and i have cellular service. I also flashed to a new radio and it works good... I'm starting to get worried lol

no i'm in the same boat. some of the stuff thats being described would have scared me away from doing this in the first place if i'd read the whole thread! but to keep OT, ROM manager works perfectly for me, and when I went from 1.3.1 to 1.3.2 i cleared the cache and dalvik, but didnt wipe. my scenes stayed intact as well as my apps. this build is significantly better than the stock rom

Have you checked in settings>applications>manage applications>friendstream widget> clear data.If its there.

if he did a wipe then it is gone, that was located in the data\app dir not the system\app dir. he will need to push it to were he wants it.

no, i haven't. i was hoping i wouldn't have to. *sigh* it's weird because the phone is the only thing that doesn't work when i do it. everything else is just peachy. also, the are only four bars instead of five on the signal strength icon.

maybe the fact that i play with the network type using *#*#4636#*#* messes it up? i go in and set it to cdma auto instead of gsm auto.

yeah i would reflash(can't hurt from the way it sounds)I haven't got to play around with evo long enough to change the network type,but i would leave it alone for awhile see how things go and then decide if you even need to.

If your going to use it i would push it to system/app they just put it in data/app so the user could remove it without a pc.

tried just flashing the rom again over top of my already set up rom and wasnt there still. just pushed it and verified it was there by doing ls in system/app and its there. reboot, and still no widget it is listed at applications-->manage applications though clear data option is greyed out. rebooting again. i just want my friendstream

Sorry i can't test this,but it should work.This should delete anything todo with friendstream in data/app and it will place them inthe system/app for you download,put on sdcard,boot into recovery and flash.If all else fails wipe and reflash the rom.

Hey guys 2 things .....

1) This is really cluttering up Keith and Jerry's thread. We should try to be respectful of them and keep this thread down to the issues related to their specific ROM. This will help them identify potentially big problems without having to weed through a bunch of pages about friendstream. I simply shared the information with them about friendstream because it was causing the sync issue, thats the only reason i posted it on this thread.

2) If you flashed the new ROM you have friendstream. You are getting things confused. Let me help:
a - You wont see the widget in your app drawer. If you want to see the widget, go to a blank home screen, long press, select widget and viola ... I deleted mine 100 times, flashed this rom and it's right back.
b - If you have not setup friendstream (which you haven't because you deleted it), you will have no data to clear in applications > manage applications.
c - The widget (not the app) that comes with the ROM is not located in system/app. They kept it so you could remove it still. Deleting the widget is not causing the sync loop, deleting the app is, which leads to my next point
d- The app (not the widget) was moved back to system/app
e - Boom-Shock-A-Lock-A

Recovery Problems

I was able to get RvU 1.3.2 on my phone and I've renamed the .zip file as instructed, but when I boot into recovery and attempt to run the recovery-windows.bat file...it just flashes the cmd prompt and goes away without doing anything. Its almost as though my computer is not recognizing my Evo...any suggestsion?

anyways, i appreciate your attempt at helping me, condescending attitude and all. im trying to learn here, as im sure you did at one point. im not new to the modding scene, just android. i have done tons of reading but this is a whole new world. constructive "attitudless" advice is way more helpful than telling me im confused and talking to me like an invalid.

I have not been able to reproduce any of these exotic issues. To be honest, I love the latest ROM. I am going to ask if ROM Manager can be built into 1.3.3 and get the next versions set up via download manager.

The SD card / USB issues can be resolved, albeit, a tedious and painful process I have had to do 3 times already. It is caused by the methods we are using to flash our phones. Also, remember, that flashing from SD card... burns them out quicker. Do frequent back ups... TRUST ME and if you don't believe me, ask Jerry how many spare pieces of plastic tabs he has lying around doing nothing now.

Once again, big big ups to KSmith and beezy ... they are giving solid advice.

Try using the Original RUU from XDA, go back to stock. See if it's still happening. I am willing to bet it's a Sprint thing. (didja pay your bill? )

Relax.

Check a few things in the app drawer. Is Titanium there? Are the Sprint Apps like Nascar, TV, etc there? Is Peep there?

If you said No... then what you did was WIPE after and it knocked out those apps. WIPE first... then Flash.
