[ROM] RvU 1.3.2 WORKING 4G!!! Sync Fixed / ROM Manager Support

HELP!! So i flashed this ROM and i did wipe everything before doing it and i am having SD card issues. Like i just viewed some picks that are on my sd and now i get at ongoing notification that says this "blank SD card" "has unsuported file system" I have tried a diffrent ROM and i have the same problem with it i have tried a difftent SD and have the same problem with it some times i will not get the notification but i will have a hard time reading the sd like in the music app it only plays the first 3 sec of a song then skips ahead and in my twitter app it cant always retreive the profile pics that are stored on the sd

What do i DO?

Sounds like your SD card is going. Back it up on your computer now if you can. Your data partition table might already be shot...

Happens when you flash a lot.

I actually had this problem when I first got my evo. I bought a 16gb card the same day, installed it, but could never get the card to read correctly in the phone. I tried to format it on my own computer, took it back to the Best Buy, they tried to format it. Every format showed as being completed, but the card would still not be read by the phone. I ended up returning the card. I purchased a new card today, and all seems fine now. I formatted it on my computer before I inserted it in the phone this time. Both cards that I have used were Sandisk cards.

One thing I have noticed is that the contacts for the SD card on the phone are not as tight as they could be. I am not real fond of the design of how the card is held in place. Try removing/reinserting the card and restarting the phone to see if that helps.

just an fyi ... my friend has an EVO, is running this ROM and has the same results as me (I.E. not the same results as you). I know its only 2 of 234852898975 devices but just wanted to provide feedback. Hope that helps!

Neither Keith or I are in Boston :P so no idea where the 617 came from lol.

So far I've had no issues dialing numbers, and the wife and I use the Evo as our home phone, so we use the phone a good bit. Just tested calling my sister, no issues with a 7 digit number.

She says we should stop fooling around with 500 dollar phones before we break them BTW :p

my phone dials my default area code when i dial seven digits. I just don't understand how people come across all these random quirks and errors...

Worst that has happened to me is that I have had to force close a couple system processes that didn't impact anything but make me wait 3 sec for them to start back up.

my fianc?e said the same thing to me! haha but I work for Sprint and don't have any trouble getting a replacement when I need one ^_^

but on the real note, my district is OoS of evos and I'm sure most else are, so be careful! my usual rule is follow the instructions to a T

Well fellas and ladies I will call Sprint and inquire as to the nature of the problem.

my guess (I work for Sprint) is that either your MDN or MSID was incorrectly provisioned OTA when your phone was activated. if you want to give me your cell number in a PM i can check tomorrow at work and text you your msl/MDN/MSID so that you can manually reprogram your phone and see if that fixes it.

This is a new 8 sd that came with my EVO i have it reads fine when i plug the card into the PC but when i leave it in the EVO and try to read it through the usb to my PC it will generate the same problem i see in my normal operation with my phone. It will only show some files this time and other files on another and some times just says no sd.

It all was good for the first 5days with the evo when i was unrooted i have only used this sd to flash 3 dif ROMs and 2 of them twice.

Here is a thought?! I remember the sprint guy to me that that little thumb catch was to pop out the battery and like on day one of having my EVO i kept poping up that catch (not knowing it was for the sd) then finally figured it all out. Could maybe this have caused the problem...but it didnt show itself until after i rooted...also my computer can read the card just fine every time.

I can also reboot my phone and then it will read the card well for about 10mins then start screwing up.

Mine works periodically in the phone connected via USB and rarely in a card reader.

So what does this full root access mean to all of us that have this Rom..should we go through the process of gaining full root..will it be needed for future releases? Anything we should know?

Thanks in advance!

well, with ROM manager you really don't need it but it does make things easier without ROM manager.

This has much bigger implications than flashing ROM's. This gives r/w to system/ while in Android ... think bloatware removal ;)

My guide will be updated soon

In Step 1 of the new NAND root method on XDA it says to do a Nandroid backup.

Can I do a backup with ROM manager instead?

Is a ROM Manager backup the same thing as a Nandroid backup?
