[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

For USB charging, the default AC charger is 0.7A so charging through your usb port would definitely be much slower. Mine has always charged really slowly with my computer's usb so I always use the AC adapter now.

If you're having problems with email, flash the stock email app from post #1.

Download the file manager of your choice from the Market: Root Explorer, ASTRO, etc.

Is your phone linked to the same GMail account? Is it syncing properly?

Yes, the stock wallpapers are part of the TouchWiz launcher so flashing the Samsung apps will give you access to them.

I will install the stock email app.
I ended up installing the Samsung apps, so I have the file folder w/twiz, the samsung wallpapers did not come back though. I added home switcher so I can go back to AM Launcher.

My phone is linked to the same gmail account, syncing properly.

I installed the ROM and everything went great. Problem is whenever I play music in any music player it will play 1 song and then freeze when it goes to switch or if I try and manually switch.

I didn't do any TB restores only thing i did was restore my MMS with mybackuppro. Please help i miss my music!

Just tested mine and def do not have this issue.

Possible temp solution w /pandora, tunein radio or something like those?

Sorry, new to flashing the Epic with Clockwork so forgive if the questions are amateur-ish.

If I want to install one of the add-ons listed on the first page, do I need to reboot to Clockwork and then select it from my storage card? For example, I would like to try the Midnight theme. I boot into Clockwork using vol up + camera + power and then immediately press vol down + camera + power then select the zip file. If I do this and decide if I do not like the theme, then how do I remove it? Would I need to reflash with TrulyEpic and start all over again customizing? With some of the add-on zip files I see apk files. Could I not just install the apk by browsing to the file using Astro or something?

Thanks for the update. This ROM rocks and I had no problems with installation. I noticed that you use a different music player than the one that comes stock. I like the features on this media player except that it doesn't have a widget for my home screen. Is there one that I can flash or download? If not, do you have the original music player?

I may be an idiot or something, but noticed that when I run quadrant scores on this rom, it's good: 1400-1500 but in the system info part it shows my cpu running only 200 mhz. Is this a rom thing, or am I just missing something? Just wondering. I certainly hope it's not running 200 mhz all the time.

Yes on flashing the .zips (themes/add ons). Boot to CWM and install from sd

Your correct also on removing anything you added since installing Truly Epic Rebirth. You would have to reflash the ROM again and the Android Setup Wizard at first bootup will restore you downloaded apps/data/settings. There is one other way but there is always a chance of FC's (force closings). You could make a NanDroid backup in CWM, choose backup and then flash you theme/add on and if you don't like it you can go back and use the restore option in CWM. Most of the time it works fine but there is always that slim chance of a problematic restore.

i was wondering the same thing about the add ons.

See above answer.

Rather than read through 27 pages of text (I know, I know), can someone tell me if this ROM suffers from the GPS and WiFi issues of Quantum? Specifically, the GPS will disappear while navigating (toggle fixes), and sometimes the WiFi won't power back on (power toggle fixes).

I like Quantum but would be happy to try another.

The gps issue is a dk28 issue, not rom specific. I don't know link off top of head (using phone not computer to reply to this), but check the roms/hacks forum for the sticky post "4 ways to fix gps". I JUST finished doing the 1st method myself. Gps now working, accurate to <3m. No wifi prb at all. This is a killer rom.

If you're stuck on the Samsung screen after converting to EXT4, just flash the ROM and it should boot up.

Use odin. Reflash to dk28. (Instructions are in the sticky about fixing bricked phones and returning to stock 2.1, I'm on my phone so I can't look up url for you). Reinstall clockwork. Before rebooting from clockwork, install trulyepic (do not reboot between clockwork and using it to clockwork to flash trulyepic). Then tell it t reboot. Should work. Did for me. (Had same problem when I was trying to get gps to work, following intructions on method 1 on the sticky by ragnarokx about fixing gps.

So to restate without all my personal stuff lol
1- using odin, reflash to dk28 (instructions in forum sticky)
2- use the oneclick clockwork/root program (from sticky forum) to root phone
3-reboot phone to clockwork screen. Clocwork will go through backup and filetype changes.
4-from main clockwork screen- BEFORE REBOOT- install trulyepic from zip
5-install any other addons for TE you want to use from their respective zips (minitheme, font, etc)
6-reboot phone from clockwork

Worked for me. Hope it helps you

Ahahaha I should just leave the support help to Rag... one sentence.. and it said everything I used a paragraph to type out. Bahahaha.

Btw while I'm here.. Ragnarokx, thanks for all the pointers to the right places. Dk28 running perfect. Gps running (accurate to 3m). Wifi perfect. All features I use working great. Its so much easier than I thought it would be once you figure out the basics. Couldn't have made it work without ya.

Just trying to give back to the community that helped me learn what I know today.

And let me thank you for offering support in that post - it makes things a lot more manageable for me, and I do appreciate it. The help you give is always useful, so don't stop on account of me.

One possible addition to traumahawk's short, sweet, how to do this. When I originally flashed, I wiped all cache's 3 times (recommended 2, but just in case. . )

Should this also be done, just in case?? In other words, it will take less than 1 minute with a few buttons to be sure.

So, I understand how to add add-ons, and that if I dislike them I need to basically start over. However, when you actually add them, does it wipe your phone? Or does it just put them on there in addition to everything else?

Thanks!

How far back do we need to start over? All the way back to reinstalling dk28 or just wipe in clockwork and reflash rom and then addons? Just want to do it right to save some greif. Thanks

According to this, I think we just reflash the ROM again.
