Wonderful, wonderful work, guys! Your experience with doing this stuff is the key here - it's not grunt work. Knowing not only how the builds work, but where all the pieces come from and where and how the changes are made and by whom. Well, there's a lot to it and we're very grateful to those that are willing to invest the time and effort to make this happen.

For anyone else that might be wanting to play with the alphas, I found that I could not get mounting of the sdcard working. What I did that seemed to work was to power the phone down, take the sdcard out of the phone, create one big ext4 partition on it and copy the rom to the sdcard on the computer. Then I could unmount the sdcard on the linux computer and put it back in the phone. Then cwm 6.0.4.5 was able to flash the rom onto the phone. Of course, many things aren't working yet - it's an alpha, after all - but you can boot it and play with it if you have a spare phone that you don't need to actually make phone calls with! LOL

I have the newest builds 2 framework.jar files extracted and decompiled.
I have the Slim Rom/Bean_Whiz 2 framework.jar files extracted and decompiled for comparison.
I have the newest build on my none activated spare.

Can someone tell me if the cell phone, sms, and mms are working or not?
If not, I should be able to just swap files and recompile.

I'm starting a new build with cdma fix from thekraven. Maybe wait for that.

That will only show the baseband in the phone settings. Try using a known working apn conf.xml from a cm-10.1 build and delete the spn conf.xml and stk.apk.

I'll try that, but I discovered something else. rild is loop-crashing. Here's the tombstone:

I'm going to ask on the p500 thread if someone will give me a logcat so we'll know if it's our setup or an androidarmv6 thing. I might disable rild startup in the public rom until it's figured out because I think it's causing reboots.

As of Alpha 5, I can verify the phone sms, and mms are not functioning, and I do have a activated phone. I'm getting a radio not working flashing with a no service on the about phone stats. I've tried various different basebands as well, none are functioning.

I doubt there's any way we're going to get phone service until this rild thing gets fixed.
FYI cm-11-20131223-thunderc-skinbark.zip has working wifi.

New build uploaded with rild fix for ZVD/ZV5. You'll want to upgrade to this for stability and battery life even if you're not activated.

Try the new build, I think it'll work if you're on ZVD. Even if you don't get service it should give better stability.

with those ril files included I get calling in and out. need to build the messaging apps to test.

the tweaks for VM from the PAC virgin fix do not give me data.

I did put it in the build, and the other VM .prop stuff too.
It does show the right network name and device cause of the .props but no mobile network. nothing in dmesg, logcat just says it's being enabled/disabled.
no soup for me. yet, anyway.

I've got calling working on the latest build. I'm on zvj and had to flash the zvd-zvj patch from cot 2.1. I still haven't got Mobil data but I don't think that's working on zvd either
