[ROM][WIP][4.4.2] CyanogenMod 11 KitKat for Optimus S/V

Do you get decent performance mounting sd-ext on on system?
good card; when I ran gingerbread completely off my 8 gig class 10 it actually seemed to run a little faster than off nand.
stock card; ran pretty slow.
and, because of recovery and other common assumptions, I run data off of sd-ext and system off of the next partition (mmcblk0p3)

actually, I'm showing 75 mb used for ROM, 100 Mb free after install. The Gapps works, I think it may be what was breaking the wifi though. I did a fresh install and wifi worked without gapps, did not work with gapps. Trying elsewhere for apps pack.
The free space that's displayed in settings is for the /data partition, not /system. The Gapps package installs itself to /system, not /data. Because kitkat is too big for our /system partition we have to trim the rom drastically to squeeze it on there and install as many of the apps that are part of android and gapps as possible 'normally' so they install to /data instead of /system. But there are some apps like the core of gapps that have to be installed to /system in order to function properly. If you flash a gapps that's too big for /system it might not break your android installation but you'll get a partial install and maybe corrupted files as well as a /system partition that's totally full and android won't work properly. Using the 'df' command in Term or with adb shell will let you see how much free space is available in your partitions.

This stuff is fascinating to me. You're a trailblazer!

*newb with neat work around* I'm not sure where space is needed, but I have some cool scripts combined with Link2sd app that allow me to not only move most apps to a separate SD partition, but also Cache and Dalvik-cache. Allows me to install virtually infinite apps on my optimus S as I have a large SD card. Let me know if this would help/you're interested.

You got them working with this rom? I'll link to them in the OP if they work.

Sorry, not this rom. Actually with REBORN rom. I don't think it'll work without some modification, but if you need that type of space saver, I'll post it in here and let y'all monkey with it. The optimus s is my only phone, and things have been to busy for me to go without cell phone functionality long enough to flash the rom.

Okay...trying this beast out. Seems really smooth so far!! Here's what I noticed:
1. Menu button doesn't seem to work now.
2. In Settings, Home button doesn't seem to work, and Back button WILL NOT work unless it's set to kill apps by long-press.
3. I wonder what'll happen for pictures once the Camera is functional. After all, KitKat at 4.4.2 got rid of Gallery in favor of that lame Photos.
4. The Gapps you posted, skinbark...they won't work. Tried to flash'em twice...nothing.

After you reboot once or twice the buttons start working. Camera works, along with Gallery. They're in the apps.zip along with all the other default cm11 apps, well as ringtones and alarms that I removed from the rom to save space. The gapps I posted is working for me but it's just to get the play store working. If you do a clean install and flash the gapps right after you flash the rom you'll have a working play store.

New build uploaded with MTP/PTP functionality and other fixes, also new CWM 6.0.4.6 with fixed sd-ext format and restore, and working mini-gapps.

Yea, i don't want to take a chance on something goin afoul, this is the only phone we have, and no computer, plus my job has me on call 24/7.

Sadly I have to agree with the new wave testers. I'm not seeing flashing the Nbss apps actually work. Wiped cache and factory resetdata, advanced options wiped the system, boot, data, and cache just for good measure, flashed the newest post, then right after flashed the app pack, it didn't actually post anything, even though it said flashing apps and all that on CWM.

No Play Store in your app drawer?

Question for Opti S owners: are your buttons correct with this rom or are they reversed?
