[ROM][WIP][4.4.2] CyanogenMod 11 KitKat for Optimus S/V

That did it!! But certain things still won't install whether I restore it via TB or sideload it from the SD card. *shrugs shoulders* Oh, well.
I'm experiencing that too, at first I thought it was something with the os2sd setup but it's something to do with the permissions on the sd card, I'm hoping to get it figured out soon. You can change the permissions on the /storage folder and it'll let you install the app but after you reboot the permissions are switched back and the app is gone.

androidarmv6 pushed a commit.
Initial commit for KitKat - FUSE_FS is required for sdcard
I pushed the merged code. beta 4. cm-11.0 branch

I found the fix for the apps not installing from play store problem. The settings in fstab were slightly off. I'll update my github.
I'm attaching the fixed boot.img files for standard and os2sd.

I finally got the phone flashed to Cricket, I'll see what happens if I reflash
Hopefully 3G will still work X3
//Edit, no 3G or 1X. I get 1X for one second, and then it goes away. >.>

you might try it, I've messed around a lot with the mcc and min trying to get mms, and it hasn't been breaking data. just no mms.

Well thank you very much for such an fun ROM! This is what I did and it works ('ish) so far:
  1. Formated the SD card to one FAT32 and one ext4 partition
  2. Installed CWM_6.0.4.6
  3. Wiped everything (boot, cache, system, dalvin-cache, etc)
  4. Rebooted to recovery and installed a previous rootme.zip I had for the Optimus V
  5. Rebooted to recovery again and installed a slimmed down version of the ROM, a ZVD to ZVJ patch w/out the Optimus S keyboard, and the VM670-buttonfix; then booted
  6. Installed Mounts2SD, gave it 10 minutes, then restarted.
  7. Installed all the slimmed apps, then restarted. Gave it 10 minutes more, then rebooted to recovery.
  8. Installed Skinny_4.4_Gapps and then rebooted.
  9. Changed some settings and voila, done!

Here is a pic of the storage. Great numbers.

Okay, now to some of my observations since my install:
  • Bluetooth recognized, but not pairing (this is known. bummer though. I love Bluetooth while driving)
  • Wi-fi didn't work for me. Not sure how to implement the fix though. Could anyone make a flashable file maybe, or include it in the next update?
  • Earphone speaker is not working during calls. Instead, you hear people in the back speaker. When you try to activate speakerphone on/off to get the earphone to work, the mute icon gets (definitely a bug). Regardless, no matter what combination you try during a call, only the back speaker works.
  • Clock lag is there every once in a while. The longer the ROM has operated, the more I notice lag. (this is also known)
  • MMS messaging or group messaging shows an incoming text from number (999) 999-9999 and it is absolute jiberish. (this is also known)

Great ROM already, but if we can figure out these bugs, then it would become amazing!

Thanks for all your great efforts.

Wifi should work just fine - the known issue is that the password is not retained after reboot until you follow the instructions in this post by skinbark: wifi fix But I should mention that I am running the os2sd version on my test phone - have you looked at it yet?

Anyone else noticing the the backlight on the buttons not turning off? Disabling backlight in Settings has no effect.

I hope someone could answer this question for me.

? I have always used Root Browser to slim down roms, change files or folders, change codes, etc.
? All i had to do is grant superuser permission, long press on an apk, then a popup window would open with about 8 different options to choose from, copy, delete, change permission and so on, i've deleted many Apk's this way, changed or added code, copy and paste something and never had a problem.
? I have done this with MiRaGe and Andy's Bean_Whiz (deleted apk's).
? I don't have a computer or access to one.
? I download CM 11 skinbark. zip, put it on my sdcard, but when i longpress on an apk to delete it, the only options i get is to open or extract it? I don't understand why it's not giving me the other options, to delete or copy, change permission and so on?
? I guess i could try another file manager, but i would like to know why it's not working in Root Browser when i've never had a problem in the past.

If someone could shed some light on this i would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance! :)
