[ROM][WIP]CM9.1.0-BobZ

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

If I'm coming from an earlier version (7-03,) will a cache/dalvik wipe suffice?

- using swype - I hate thumb typing, and prefer the dragging .. overall I feel its faster

not sure how to verify this, but I think the 7/27 rom has the best battery life out of every rom I've tried going back to bobz gb roms.

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

Is there a way to turn off the Auto-link to the sdext? I LOVE the Rom (i'm using the modded Godzilla variant right now) and my fav (and really important for my job) GPS app "Waze" just won't work like it should, it won't do any search, or show any categories to find something to drive to. I'm assuming its because its being Auto-linked, and I need to know how to disable that so I can go the Link2SD route, where I control whats linked and whats not. The only other Reason I can think of is MAYBE they haven't made it 100% ICS compatible yet, but I hope not. Help? If I can't get it working then i'll need to go back to Gingerbread! :'(

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

Finally updated to the 7-27 version of this ROM. Smooth flash, booted right up without drama. Love it. The problem: As soon as I try to reinstall apps from Titanium or from the Play Store, I get the dreaded "package file is invalid" error. Trying to update existing apps: same thing. How I hate the package file errors, the most pernicious of all Android woes, in my experience. I was led to believe that the package file errors were more of a CM7 thing. Kind of sad to see them here. Has anyone found a solid fix for this? I don't have an SD-ext, if that factors in at all.

You don't need an sdext. I'm running this rom without one. Wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery

I did that before I flashed. I'll try it again. Thanks.

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

i would love it if someone would tell me what to change or modify to get rid of the sd-ext scripts, thanks

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

The sd-ext scripts are in 'system/ect/init.d', but you have to remove them from the rom before flashing. Our phones were built for FroYo, which had enough internal memory for it. GB was a much bigger OS, and on occasion someone would complain about running out of room. Now ICS is even bigger and leaves very little room left...making it mandatory to run an sd-ext script.

You would hate ICS if you removed them....

+1^^ For sure. Once you partition your card with an ext partition i bet you'll never install another Rom without it. It's truly magical and quite honestly with out it I'm pretty sure dev on this Rom would have never made it past GB

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

my problem is that i still get errors when i use the built-in scripts (no amount of cache wiping helps). i've been using link2sd without problems on cold as ice but when i look in the init.d folder of that rom it appears there are ext scripts in there too and i thought there is supposed to be havoc if i use link2sd when there is already some sd scripts there... anyway i tried removing files from that folder for this rom and flashing but nothing flashes (like in recovery it just go back to the main screen with no errors and nothing flashed) so i'm not sure what exactly im supposed to remove or if i'm not rezipping the right way or what... (i would remove all of the files in that folder or..?)

So I can't remove the scripts and use Link2SD for manual control, without issue? I wouldn't care about this if "Waze" worked, but it doesn't function properly, (funny how it works while linked via Link2SD) I don't even know if its this particular ROM, or ICS, or the sd-ext scripts, but its truly frustrating as I do prefer using the scripts to Link2SD, not to mention the superior version of Android.

As a side note, what happens when the sd-ext runs out of memory? Does it sense that and switch to using internal memory? I had this happen with Link2SD while auto-linking new apps, it wrote over other app data. :-\

Re: [ROM][WIP]CM9.0 RC2-BobZ

Perhaps slightly OT, but is there a way to reset the default exposure settings in the stock camera? I've found that I have to manually "+3" before most shots... :-\
