[ROM][WIP]CM9.1.0-BobZ

One last thing: USB storage doesn't seem to be working. The computer recognizes it is being plugged in, the phone recognizes USB Storage is turning on, but the storage never shows up on the computer. It works with my phone on quattrimus so I know it's not a driver issue. A guy on XDA was reporting the exact same thing happening on the latest two builds. Any insight on this? Sorry for all the questions, I haven't used Bob's ROM before now :P

You have to turn off adb debugging for USB storage to work.

It is off :/

Edit: Nevermind, fiddled with it a couple of times and all is well now! My sister can now get the pictures of our cats off of her phone, and she is a happy camper :P

Thanks for all the help today everyone!

Can someone help me find out how to set a passcode on my lock screen? I can't find it in settings for the life of me. I've never had this problem before.

Seems like if my screen is off for a while, I don't get Google Voice or Gmail notifications. I've only noticed this using wifi.

Am I missing a setting? Or missing a forum post where this was identified?

well I have one more question this time. I try to uninstall voice search using link2sd and since it is a system app I run into problems with apps crashing after I remove it and some times an infinite boot loop after I restart my phone. how can I safely remove this app? do I need to convert to user app then delete?

I just delete the apk from the gapps.zip before I install it.

Try settings, wireless and networks, wi-fi settings, then click the setting button once again. You'll find the advanced settings. That's where the sleep policy options are. Hope that helps. :)

Download ES File Explorer, give it root access and mount system rw and just go to system/app and delete it.

Or, just open terminal and type
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw /system /system
rm /system/app/voicesearch.apk (if that's the name I'm not sure)

Thanks. You got me on the right track: Settings > Wireless and Networks > Wi-Fi > *Menu button* > Advanced

Ive tried searching the thread, but there's so many pages. Anyway, is there a bug in the 9/30 build that prevents deep sleep and/or allows for a massive battery drain? Normally I can go 3-5 days without the need to recharge, but I just updated from the 9/1 build to the 9/30 build three days ago and have had to recharge each day. Below is a screenshot. I slept for 12 hrs during the time that this shows (Except the last 4 hrs.) and yet it said it was awake at regular intervals. Also, my mobile data and wifi were both off... Is this a known issue, or do I just need to re-flash? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks for the help.

That has to be an app. The phone doesn't wake itself up like that, apps do. Did you do any updates to any apps or install any new ones?

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually installed less than in the 9/1 build. My thoughts were to make it more lean install and hopefully increase battery life and performance; go figure. It could very well be something I've done, so here it is. Before flashing I replace Superuser with SuperSU, and inject the int2ext+ script (deleting the others except 90userinit and 00banner). After flashing the ROM, I flashed gapps. I installed TB Plus and restored the following apps from backup: AdFree, ChompSMS, Dolphin Browser, Gmail, Pandora, QuickPic, Root Explorer, and Swype Beta. I also froze Browser, Dev Tools, Downloads, Email, Gallery, Live Wallpaper, News & Weather, and Talk via TB Plus. All of the aforementioned procedures were done in the 9/1 build and other builds/ROMs as well.

;tl;dr > I didn't do anything different in the 9/30 build (that I'm aware of atm) that I haven't done in previous builds/ROMs.

I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me....I have been running the 9/30 build of this great rom since it came out & haven't run into any major issues, maybe a little lagging here & there with certain apps, & with Nova Launcher sometimes. I ran across a thread on another forum about an app/script that will Odex the phone again from a De-Odexed rom. It was stating how the phone would be smoother & more responsive if Odexed. I understand that I would lose the ability to make any major customization changes to the rom/phone after odexing, but I was wondering if I have all of the Customizing done that I want to do, and then I run this app to Odex the phone again, Would I run into problems with the new Script that is in this rom now? the "A2SD++" script? because this new script the Dev added to this rom is GREAT, and has been working perfectly, saving me all kinds of internal storage. But I don't want to mess that up if I try to Odex the phone, and also would I gain anything, speed-wise, by Odexing the phone? thank you for you help in advance......
