It was said maybe the apn was missing or rather set to Verizon, then I think I remember trying.. maybe not LOL but regardless a zip was posted to change it I flashed that and also there was a .xml provided that was from the previous version so I replaced that in system/etc. Maybe it wasn't broken at first and I neglected to.test it but I was trying.to avoid a reflash LOL =/

That's awesome :)

Any news on your other bug projects? (FM)

Probably going to work on USB tethering first. Unsure if it's even possible to get the FM receiver working.

It might be the case that you'll need to remove the SQLite database holding all the APNs and reboot to pull in the proper settings. If you're okay doing a factory wipe, that's the easiest way. Otherwise remove:

/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db (and the write-ahead logs and such) and reboot. See if that fixes it. MMS works for me just fine on Virgin (well, as well as it'll ever work on Virgin). What you need to do is make sure there is at least one valid entry for Sprint (mcc=310 mnc=120) in the database (which is populated by the XML file) and that your build.prop has the following lines in it:

ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310120
gsm.sim.operator.numeric=310120
gsm.operator.numeric=310120

If those are mismatched the MMS app won't know where to look for an MMS gateway.

Everything's working OK since installing this. The only thing I've noticed that's odd is my speaker volume is much lower than it was previously. Apps that I could clearly hear with just one notch in the volume now are silent until more than halfway to full volume. Weird. Also, I noticed that my Navigation app's volume is now much, much lower than my music player, which is not as it was prior to this ROM.

Ok build.prop is right and telephony.db has the right info under carriers. I did have to replace apns-conf file. Mms is working for me, send and receive.

Mom's may be working. Please hold

Reboot the phone and try again. Check the logcat output and see if there are any errors reported. If there are post them here. Virgin's MMS is working for me right now.

Sorry lol sent to gf, never got it. Sent and received to tmo phone and worked both ways.

Let me know if you need anything for USB tethering. FM has been a unicorn for us. Hardware is there but still seems impossible to get working. Works or so it seems but no audio so can't truely tell lol.

Let me know what logs you need and which logs for what.

Makes sence now.. deleted the files they rebuilt. Now working again thanks.

This is the first chance all weekend that I have been able to get to my computer. I'm syncing now and will be doing a build tomorrow. I'm going to try to use blarf's OV kernel. It should work fine. All I have to do is use a different key mapper file I believe. I will also make sure to add a build date this time and also include the apns file. I will hopefully have something tomorrow sometime.

Have you been experiencing the delayed echo while in-call? Its been so difficult to deal with

Look forward to the new build. We may have issues with mms on ov kernel. Mms never worked for us with aosp roms. But we will find out :)

My speaker volume is mostly OK. I think I may have gotten a bit more volume with a small tweak, but music always seems a little quieter than the speaker phone. As for Navigation, that's a Google/CM7 issue. A similar issue happens with the lock sounds while playing music.

Oh just re-build Zefie's kernel or apply the patch from here Gerrit Code Review.

Probably an issue with your local towers. Call Sprint and escalate it. I've had that kind of problem with other phones on Verizon, but not so far with this ROM or phone (VM670).

MMS should work fine. It's not configured in the kernel, as long as the build is configured for an LS670 MMS will work.

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

Is SQL sync disabled by default in this rom?

Optimus S's are now sold with OFFICIAL gingerbread! Someone please post findings if possible. Looks like some people will try and post a system dump...but guess that requires root...

I may be overstating this but that could fix all the device problems. Our last major bug is bluetooth, that could be fixed as well as improve the performance of other features!

If official 2.3 is real it has to be rootable somehow. I find it hard to believe that both the super one click and gingerbreak exploits would be patched. It's not like we have a locked bootloader.

The problem with the bluetooth audio is not in GPL'd code. So, no, I don't expect that the official GB update will offer a fix. There are a still number of other notable problems (mostly related to CM7 bits however).

Re: [ROM][WIP] Unofficial CM7 (Gingerbread) - 7/15/2011

The changes at these links seem to causing build errors. The first link is for a separate lockscreen background. The second link is for disabling a lockscreen.
I'm getting errors "cannot find symbol". Make returned error 41,
I'm going to retry building from a clean work tree.
