[ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v4 [UPDATE] 10/14/2012

Re: [ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v2.5 [UPDATE] 08/12/2012

Whoa! I didn't know about the fix boot loop option in the COT!! That seems to have worked like a charm! Thanks so much. I was just about to try and go through a whole revert to stock process and it was gonna be a giant mess. Thanks for all your help!

Did you flash in the percentage only battery theme? I will look into removing the battery from the status bar.

I did, but why have 2 battery meters, I feel like the option to just have the batter bar and clean up the status bar would be pretty popular. I played with MUNI on a Droid X and it seemed like it had this option. Otherwise I'm just 2 days into flashing up to this from an old hydro rom and so far so good.

Well, I will look into removing it !

I like the battery meter :) But I'm weird.

I like the battery bar + the percentage only. My goal was to offer some customization for users. But I thing I remember seeing a guide on how to remove the battery icon somewhere.

Re: [ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v2.5 [UPDATE] 08/12/2012

So perhaps this is a leading question, but what features/additions are planned for the next version?

Thoughts-

1)some kind of 2ext mod might be nice for system space. The rom isn't big, but system space is an issue with this phone regardless.

2) Perhaps some basic themes?

3) DSP Manager or ALSA would be nice for the audiophiles.

4) I don't know if the Amphetamines baked in are v1 or v2, but a note on which version and perhaps an upgrade to v2 if it's still v1 would be cool.

5) I bought a copy of WidgetLocker for lockscreen editing, but I'm almost certain there's a free app or mod to do the same thing somewhere out there. (I LOVE the ICS style lock screen. Yea, going right to the app I want)

Just some thoughts. Regardless, this is easily the smoothest, best performing, and most reliable ROM I've used. Kudos x1000.

1) There are plenty of 2ext/2sd mods you can install yourself.

2) That'll be up to the ROM chef ;)

3) DSP Manager only works with CyanogenMod.

4) Pretty much any improvement that Amphetamines makes has already been made.

5) Don't think so. And modding in a custom lockscreen is probably out of the question. Trust me, I've tried.

It is amphedamine v1 that I used. I do plan on some more theming but it will have to wait for me to get a little more time. Also at the moment I am without a dev device so that slowes me down. I agree with drew on all his points as well. A2sd mods can be added by the user if they like, but is not supported. But I do appreciate the feedback, I love hearing from users of my rom!

Re: [ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v2.5 [UPDATE] 08/12/2012

Thanks a ton, Hlx. My post was more for the purposes of sparking a bit of discussion about what users might think are neat/fun/useful things to bake into a rom. It's wonderful (and stable) as is, but being an ongoing project (and having been in creative departments before) the worst thing to hear as a developer is crickets.

I'm sorta half new (I rooted and romed my old HTC Evo years ago, but this is a new device, and with it, new challenges), and so some suggestions might be newbish (dsp, etc), but the general idea stays the same on most points. Thanks for the feedback as well!

As a question (which may be best left in PMs or in another thread) what is it about the lock screen that makes it so ridiculously hard to change? I know that UI builds (like sense) change the lock screen. Is that something that is just a development team unto itself, and that as a mod or whatever, is simply beyond our ken?

Re: [ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v2.5 [UPDATE] 08/12/2012

Apps like widgetlocker are one thing. They dont actualy change what your phone was designed to do, instead its more like they override it. For me atleast it is simply beyond my knowhow to create a mod to do it without such an app. But then to add it we are talking about adding an app to achieve the desired effect, which not all users might like and those that do could add on thier own aftter flashing the rom if they like. So we are left with a choice of adding more bloat to a rom or leaving it slim.

I have a small problem with the volume of notifications, I downloaded several apps to manage increased volume as the volume of notifications and leave the application (Volume Rocker) the notification volume back down

Re: [ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v2.5 [UPDATE] 08/12/2012

Have you used this app on other Roms? Sounds more like an app issue. So this app (provide it name please) is supposed to increase volume output? And its settings are not sticking?
