[ROM][ZVJ] 2.3.3 DanteRom v4 [UPDATE] 10/14/2012

So I went ahead and updated my phone from ReBorn rom, to this latest version of 2.3.3 DanteRom v4. My question is I’m running this rom on the LG670 / Optimus-S on the Sprint Network. Once the rom installed the phone has been searching for the network for some time. I’m still trying to investigate and research the issue but if you guys have seen this and have a fix let me know.

Reborn is froyo right? Did you update your baseband to zvj or use the zvj-zvd patch?

My guess is it is a baseband miss match. Reborn is zvd and Dante is zvj. Ideally you have to properly upgrade to the new baseband for the radio to get signal. There a patch that does work to trick you phone into using the old baseband on the new ROM. Try this and let me know if that was the culprit.

Model: LS670
Andriod Ver: 2.3.3
Baseband Ver: LS670MVJ_6150
SW Ver: LS670ZVJ

I tried resorting the phone back to the ZVJ update and it still doesn't work. Look at the Baseband Version.. MVJ

**UPDATE**
tried the patches they didn't work

tried updating to back to a stock image, worked but crippled because I updated through a rom manager. then used adb to flash the stock rom manager, and now everything seems to be okay now. Looks like i'll need to root the phone in it's current state then move towards this Dante Rom

MVJ yes us the baseband. For what ever reason, we use ZVJ to describe baseband/software versions as they usually go hand in hand. I will admit to being stumped if you upgraded to rooted zvj and you still have no service.

Also stumped.... If your on rooted zvj you should have no trouble with service on Dante no patch needed. Actually using the wrong g patch can disable your service just as easily.

This doesn't seem to work for me on Reborn ROM... Any suggestions?

Enzomatrx, Axe, when you were in recovery to flash the mod, did you make sure to turn Signature Verification ***OFF***? I've flashed this into CyanogenMod 10, BobZhome's build from 08/31 (I think it was) with the Optimus S patch, and it worked just fine. (If that's the Nexus boot animation, then damn...I'm more tempted to get a Nexus...even though I hate that the G-Nex doesn't take memory cards...)

The Dante boot animation was taken from the gingerbread nexus s. It was then rotated 90 degrees and cropped to make the most of our screens. I might try and make the ICS and jb boot animations for you at a later date.

Okay so finally got everything up and running. It was a task in a half to get things upgraded properly.

1.) downgrade rom
2.) root zvd room
3.) then dance and jump on one leg, followed by this how to on downgrading and upgrade to the rooted version of ZVJ...
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/175303-how-root-stock-zvj-downgrading-zvh.html
Upgraded back to ZVJ rooted, pushed over the Cannibal Open Touch manager
etc...

fully updated and working now, i did notice 3g seems to be really slow on downloading files.

3g is just slow... Be it on zvj/zvd or any other baseband. I use zvj because for me it's faster then my other choices.

By the way I think you mean cannibal open touch recovery, not manager

Seems like any kind of Data that is being sent over the phone is super sluggish. Could this be that the phone hasn't been updated with an offical rom since i bought it when it first came out?

**UPDATE**
- No access to data services (indicated by the lack of a 1X or 3G next to the Signal Indicator).
Workaround: From the dial pad, type ##72786# (##SCRTN#) and the device's MSL. The device will power cycle and
perform a hands free activation which will resolve the issue. Note: If you do not know your MSL, contact
$print Customer Service at 888-211-4727 for assistance.

entered in the MSL code and now it works fine with downloads.

Excellent, glad you got everything running properly. I would also recommend a prl and profile update.

I made sure I turned off Signature Verification.

i always have sig verification off. i'm a rebel.

Guys sorry I haven't done much with the animation. Been having computer issues. What ROMs have you tried installing into? Is it just reborn? I have little experience with froyo ROMs so I don't know how they handle bootanimations.

I think I was the only one who tried on the Froyo ROM with Reborn. Hopefully, the computer issues get resolved quickly. :-)
