Funny. It works just fine for me. With CM10, the various color "strings" merge together into a cursive (angled) and kinda small X on the center right of my screen. Just for the hell of it, I made a nand backup, wiped everything, flashed Joylicious Optimus and this bootanimation. Works there, too, but the animation itself is different (probably because the groundwork for Joylicious is CM7 aka GB): the strings come in vertically and merge into a humongous X right in the center of my screen. I thought that was a pretty awesome touch that this animation is different in GB & JB. So I'm gonna guess that MAYBE the diagonal version could be the ICS boot animation...

EDIT: Just saw the G-Nex boot animation for JB...and IMO, it sucks!! Nowhere nearly as cool as this one is!! But I guess I won't be able to find the ICS version, lol...

No Dice. I presume no difference between the root of the sd card and a few folders deep?

No you can place it anywhere on the SDcard. Here is another one to try.

Same method as before. Make sure to perform a nandroid backup as I did this one a little different.

Update: The animation won't work with the 09/15 version of CM10. It results in the old "Android" boot animation. Strange...it worked with the 08/31 version just fine.

Strange.... At this point it'd almost be easier to just use a root file manager to drop the animation to the appropriate folder.

I think it is a difference between where the animation is located. In reborn it is located in /data/local and in dante I always stuck it in /system/media.

Here are a few more tests. Sorry there are so many, but I dont have a device to test on guys. If you want this on reborn, I will need some help. I have to rewrite the updater-script and I have never mounted that partition and written to that directory before. I DO believe that one of the ones below will do it. And while it does say specifically it is for froyo roms, I believe it should work on any rom.

I hate to bug but I just flashed the Danterom v4 and I am not getting any service on my phone...I followed all instructions did a full wipe, turned off sig varification, and when it rebooted I have no service....any body have this same issue or know of a fix I would greatly appreciate it.

2, 3, & 4 didn't work for me. 3 and 4 threw up a status 7 error. The second one mentioned something E: unmountable, etc. Sorry for not having specifics at this time.

Well, it seems trying to do this without a device is simply not working. I decided to put up a paypal donate button in the hopes of being able to get a new dev device. Dont think I have given up on you all, but some things are just beyond me without an Optimus to test with. Every little bit will help. I will continue to work on and support this rom regardless of whether or not I manage to get a new device.

You have a baseband mismatch. I saw your post in the ginger ROM thread. Read through the welcome guide in the stickies as it explains all about the baseband issue. Also back a page or so in this thread someone else did the same thing and their comments may be of use too.

I tried using the patch and still didnt work...I did a full wipe and reinstalled ginger rom and the patch in the correct order and I am still not getting any service.... Is there anything else that might be an issue? I am running the correct rom for the correct zvj baseband....and even with the patch I am getting nothing....any other suggestions?

Which patch did you use? You want zvj-zvd if your on zvd baseband

I used the ZVJ to ZVD patch....I am curently on a ZVJ system

Ahh ok if your on zvj you don't use any patch with this rom

I did that originally....and I was having the same issue...thats why I was thinking it might be a kernel issue...I'm not sure...It's my brothers phone...I think he is gonna go pick up the Galaxy S3 were getting pretty frustrated with this whole thing.

Originally we did...but heres the thing...we used this phone for probably 5 months with CM7. I rooted it as soon as I got it which was early last year... My brother got a new phone a few months back and stopped using the Optimus....well his newer phone messed up and when we went back to the Optimus, thats when we noticed it wasnt working correctly....with the CM7 that was already installed on there, we get service but no data services, so no internet unless were connected to WIFI. when we flashed to Dante Rom v4, that is when we had no service all together...same when I flashed to Ginger Rom...so I just restored it back to CM7 so at least he can make calls and send text....but I'm really confused on how it worked fine a few months ago, and now it's not...I had the same phone with the same CM7 Rom and I tried to activate my old one and it did the same thing...no internet.... Not really sure what to do.
