RomManager won't backup ROM with Ginger Yoshi(?)

I have Ginger Yoshi 1.5 (Android 2.3.5) on a MyTouch 3G. I also have Rom Manager and CWM Rec on it. Everything seems to work great EXCEPT Rom Manager locks up the phone when I try to back up the ROM! I've tried re-flashing CWM Rec, but to no avail. No other problems obvious. Any ideas?? Thanks! L.
