ROMs and the camera

Ok, so I was about to install my first ROM (yes, I'm very very slow - been unlocked and rooted, using newer radios for a while but still tentative on the ROMs). Am I reading correctly that none of the ROMs have working video cameras and/or panoramic camera functions?

Assuming that is true, can anyone explain why, exactly? Are the camera apps not part of the google suite?

Are there mods that have extensive "extras" that let you keep the standard cameras?

Video and panorama work on almost all roms. I think the roms tht they dont work on are the ones that have their own camera software that they are trying to build into ics. Along the lines of cm9 or something, but i dont remember if that's the case precisely.

Anyway, short answer, these features work on nearly every rom. I can confirm that they work, at the very least, on aokp, axiom builds, and eclipse. probably works on a slew of other roms.

Everything works well on LiquidSmooth v1.3
