Root has been achieved

Also remember just because it is rooted doesn't mean custom ROM support is available. This is more for removing bloatware and adding tethering as slight system mods.

The bootloader is still locked and it will be a while before (if) it gets unlocked which would allow for custom ROMs.

Thanks for the video link, but a couple of funny things about person posting that video. First de_la_vega he doesn't know much about why it's called that, he doesn't recognize the stock recovery during boot-up and of course he "doesn't know why it does that, its part of the hacking process". Yet his website is called www.rootjunky.com so, yeah. Best to read and post in the thread by XDA-Developers to make sure you do it right.

Odd that he says it will take 10 minutes or more. When rooting my T-Mobile Note 3 it took 10 seconds of downloading lol.

Sent from my T-Mobile Note 3 using AC Forums.

I am pretty sure the guy who did the root and the guy who did the video are 2 different people as the guy in the XDA thread that posted the root method thanks him for doing the video

Excellent Video! Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Root instructions
Thanks to @Tomsgt

I have little doubt they are NOT associated with one another and as a long time follower/reader/member at XDA-Devs those who are devs there do a far better job of explaining things when they do a video. While it was great this person did one for newbies the directions were straight up and easy to follow but the person sounded almost like they didn't know much about custom recovery, bootup sequences, time to flash a ROM via odin. Just some odd stuff in there.
