Root help!

I was redirected to this thread and it has helped for a minute. I tried to flash the img file and all I got was fastboot was not operable or something, maybe i was supposed to type it differently from what 2defmouze wrote.

Are you on a Windows computer? If so, use Wug's Toolkit to set up the drivers for adb and fastboot. If you're on a Mac, follow the Mac rooting guide and use that folder for the one 2def described.

One day it will all be easy. I'll try the toolkit in the morning see if that works. Should have just flash a rom and hopefully been done with it. Good practice

Once you flash one you dont stop at just one. Take it from the guy who said to himself a month ago "I'm going to flash AOKP milestone 5 and then be done with flashing until milestone 6 because I dont feel like crack flashing" who has now flashed M5, b36, b37, 2 different radio packages and 3 different themes :P

I don't want to say I told you so, but... ;)

What version of Android are you on? 4.0.2? 4.0.4?

Thanks everyone for all the help here. I used wugs to get it done again. I am now using liquid ROM. There is a wealth of knowledge here. All have been very supportive.
My extended battery doesn't last as long as it did and the signal...... well that is another story. I've tried different radios but none seem to help. I read where a new radio is available but it is only for the GSM phones. Any suggestions anyone?

Battery life is dependent on so many things.. but in general realize that when you flash a new ROM or kernel or radios, all these things need time to "settle" and your battery stats file to adjust to the changes before you will see accurate representation of your battery life. The old suggestion involved deleting the battery stats file after a fresh wipe to calibrate it but this has been mostly debunked... it will adjust on its own over time. Give it a couple days / power cycles before you even pay too much attention to battery life.

For the radios the FC04/05 ones are the latest and most people find them to be an improvement. If you want to revert back to older ones check Zero Neck's [RADIOS] thread for all the flashable zips. Always grab the one that includes the bootloader, as it is good practice to keep your radios and bootloader on the same version. And again, keep in mind all these things need some time to settle in and your system to adjust, so don't be too quick to panic if things don't seem awesome on day 1 after flashing something :)
