My main reason for root is to remove bloat which is a non issue with the idol 3. I'll likely pass unless I'm missing something.

I usually root my devices for the following reasons:

(1) block ads (some sites are almost unusable due to ads)
(2) Viper4Android to improve audio quality
(3) Xposed modules to customize UI and improve performance
(4) custom ROMs
(5) Tasker
