[Root] Samsung Epic 4G Official Froyo EB13 w/Optional EXT4

Hi,

I'm rooted, but I have a 2.1 kernel and ROM. It was really difficult for me to achieve the first root. I'm not too keen on doing the process again (especially since I had to use someone else's computer to finally get it to work). Do I have to flash back to stock and re-root to get EB13? Or am I OK with installing a ROM with 2.2 once it comes out? Basically, are there other ways of installing 2.2 without going back to stock and re-rooting?

Prerooted ext version will work for my setup without having to reroot?

Rooted TER 1.5, DK28 and clockwork 3.x.x.x

my main question is who has been rooted and then installed the 2.2 update manual way and the phone was fine and just needed rerooted. So no issues b/c of the previous root

nope, download the exe version from samsung, install, follow its instructions even if you're in 1.5 TER like i was, and just flash B13 and pow :)
though back up your stuff because ti will clean your phone up.

none of my apps from the sd card are showing up. I backed up using Titanium Backup from DK28. Now on rooted EB13. If I download TB from market will it affect my backups?

I would do this right now but my sis is using the laptop that has all the things I need to root my Epic to EB13 -_-

Now, I'm confused as all get out. There is talk here about the One Click Root, and previously somewhere here about ODIN. I installed the Leaked DK28 but I don't think I rooted my phone. I used a process here and it worked; I think it was ODIN. Now, I would like to have the new EB13 but I'm confused about how to go about this. There appears to be too many ways to go about this. I would be happy enough going back to the original and then let Sprint/Samsung do the updating for me. Can I do that? Can someone provide a link to specific instructions?

Cell phone carriers & Manufactures need to HIRE you guys! DAH hell you have LESS resources & are MORE efficent ...just imagine what could be done if they had inner level support!.....One came dream right?..the "Epic 2"...

ugh... having worse problems then the first time i tried to root. keeps saying waiting for the phone to reconnect and nothing happens. tried killing adb in all types of ways. plus there's 2 adb files running for some reason. it restarts on its own after i kill it

question.. i do NOT want to mount the SD card as a drive correct?

edit: errrr nevermind. sixth times the charm
